Today boys and girls wasn't all that exciting but there were some random thoughts rolling through my brain as I sat in a class today. I have training today, Wednesday and half of Thursday then I get to test Thursday night into Friday morning.. yeah lucky me.
I woke this morning confused, then remembered class, sleeping in then almost overslept. Thankfully we are now into August and apparently 85% of folks in the Washington DC metro area are gone elsewhere... so for those of us who are left behind, traffic ain't too bad... so I was super early this morning. Called into work to check in with the office mate - all groovy.
Found my class - in the other building, moved car, reparked, found class had time for coffee it's all groovy.
Remembered a protein shake so life today food wise was good - BIG improvement over yesterday. Yesterday was very painful and very stupid - and that is all I am going to say about that.
Class ended earlier than scheduled as it isn't a big class and so - schedule time versus time done 90 minute differential... serious bonus. 4 pm versus 5:30 pm - serious bonus.
In a fit of I don't know what - I decided to scrub out my fridge - like pull everything out, scrub down all the parts and the insides, I was in what I tossed and got things 9/10's done and still there is a semi-funky smell... so I will do the last 10th tomorrow.
Then I did my homework and that was after the trip to Costco for dog food and dinner - roasted chickens.
Darling husband saunters home, I make him take out the trash - and bring in the dog food. Its the small things that make life worth living boys and girls remember than one.
Oh yeah - I need a manicure - and with my schedule - it will be this weekend... so the rest of the week with on nail missing and chipped paint all around.
Now Violet is being needy puppy so the random thoughts for today - stay tuned for more exciting news from the wilds of the 'burbs of DC.
Cheap Therapy and Random Thoughts
It's what on my mind today chatting to everyone and no one. Its cheap therapy for me ;-)

And just like that ... weekend over
Yes it is now later Sunday afternoon, our puppy guests are gone, and so are their beds, and raw the chickens as well. We enjoyed a visit with my former office mate and her family - always a good time... one of us needs to move closer but that would screw the entire system we have built... you know those things called our lives.... ah well.
We're working out our retirement so we have that to look forward to... based upon the stock market it should be when we're both closer to 70 than 60... what joy. ;-)
Enjoyed my lunch, and two bites of 'nephew' George's cake... sweets are an issue. By the time we go done talking and headed home for the doggie swap I was hungry again. Go figure.
We are now home Bubba is watching a move - I KNOW we've seen before and if I remember it - why doesn't he? Because he likes watching the same stupid movies over and over again... whatever. This is why I read - and blog.
Saturday was pretty mellow after Major Crankypants was fed and happy - he got left over surprise for dinner he ate it - and didn't say much. So it couldn't be so bad right? He didn't have to eat it, or cook it or anything else so - hush.
So here we sit Sunday night - all mellow and happy, I have to deal with what to wear to work tomorrow, and to plan the rest of my week which includes 2.5 days of training and possible overnight testing... yeah.
Sorry this entry is so boring - life in the fast lane I guess. LOL
Enjoy your mellow Sunday afternoon and enjoy because Monday will be here all too soon.

Ah Saturday....
And Bubba the butthead is out in full force. Thankfully most of the morning he was out and about and left me to my own devices which are usually a book and the remote. And with the Olympics on TV - some sports viewing intermixed with the ever ready food channel.
We are also dog sitting my friends rather large grey hound dogs for the weekend. I was doing well, got them all picked up loaded into the car got home, got everyone introduced in the back yard and goodie no growling, no nothing just a lot of sniffing and moving then everyone went to the their neutral corners and we've pretty much have had peace.
Until we decided to go out to dinner and a movie last night - getting everyone in a certain location and dealing with raw chicken these dogs eat was - shall we say a bit much. Bubba was also useless in the 'help' department... per usual. But we managed to get things all worked out, the house was find when we got home and my friend told me via instant message his pups will eat tonight. yeah. I have to find a place to feed them all this raw chicken mess and not have Shelby want to join in... that dog will eat anything. Based upon the puppy gas in my car Friday - I can't imagine what it will do to my dog who is not used to eating that stuff.
So - back to our tale - Bubba the butthead - he returns from whatever oh so important things he was doing including his not so clandestine trip to the bagel store - I can't eat that yet. He returns hands me paper work for the lodge then proceeds to tell me something 3 times - I typing the email he wants me to send - and while I'm typing he's told me what to do - THREE FREAKING TIMES. Then he gets all pissy as I turn the sound back on the TV because - as I said he repeated his directive three times and I got the message - I was doing what he asked and he kept talking. then he asked why I turned the sound up... I told him. And hello Major Crankypants. Grump Grump bitch bitch.... he goes off and does his thing I do mine...
Later he walks back in tells me it's too hot to mow the lawn and now we sit here dueling laptops...if he only knew...
And next on our hit parade Bubba and I are now regulated to facebook status updates by his family. They won't hear it from me but Niece D who does have her head on straight and apparently the only computer literate member of the family posted to facebook - that Niece A's FOURTH child was brought into the world either yesterday or today -we can't be sure because there is just a picture and a name on her status, I had to really look at the picture when Bubba asked THEN I saw the band on the baby's arm. I have NO intention of calling up there - acknowledging we know or even given this barely a nudge to our existence any kind of frankly tells me everything we need to know.
It will certainly make easier on my part - F-u and your holiday plans. You don't consider us part of the family for reoccurring events - holiday follow the same pattern. I've had enough of Bubba and family today - I'm going to bury my nose in a book and watch other people who don't. Perhaps we'll some of the more esoteric sports today rather than swimming and gymnastics on regular TV at night.
Later... oh and stay cool!

Slogging through Thursday
Most people are happy to see Thursday come to their week... it means Friday is is near and soon the weekend. Thursday to me means a long day and this week it's put pins in the cupie doll known as Aunt Ing...
Allow me to document my latest foot-in-mouth issue. This week Monday we were again testing 6 AM to 6 PM of course our guy in early called my office mate wondering where the tester was.... we had no clue. We had tester A on the schedule to arrive at 6 AM. She was not answering her phone. We got hold of tester B who then informed us that he overslept and that tester A was out of town due to a family emergency and he was on deck and over slept... then he proceeded to tell us he'd be in in 30-45 minutes - and hour plus later he sauntered in and in total was 2 hours late.
Now here is the kicker - on the instant message where no less than 10 people are waiting for this dork - I stupidly said "my apologies for the napper he's on his way in" Which apparently got some one's knickers in a twist - aka Test A when she returned to work - which also means Tester B told on me. Grow a set son and face me, you're taller than me by a foot and out weigh me by a good 40 pounds... seriously?
So I did apologize for the statement - hence the foot and mouth - but then the kick in the head came with an email from the lead tester - the boss of both tester A and B.... saying this was as result of previous issues with me... WHAT? I'm sorry I tell your testers to get to work on time and do their jobs and I'm the bad guy?!? WTH? So in typical fashion for me I retreat into my protect crouch most of the day and then went to my company boss... told him what happen and thank goodness for my sanity he agreed with me. So I'm not crazy... nice to have a validation of my thinking.
On top of all that - Thursday turned into a very long day --- what fun.
Now I'm home, fed and Bubba is giving me the stink eye. Wrapping this day up with a cherry don't you think?
When can I drink?

5 kids, 5 dogs, and 10 "adults"....oh what a weekend
Toss in rain, chill, and adult beverages and oh what a weekend we had. We drove through weather Armageddon Thursday night got to Nana's and we got to unload without the rain.. bonus. Checked the weather, and went to bed. Much to my surprise the neighbors slept in so we got a later start, and got to camp later than I wanted to. Bubba had a small fit over breakfast options, we ended up at Subway which employed the slowest sandwich-put-together person on god's green earth... seriously. And the only way that sandwich is editable is when you slather it with all that extra sandwich crap. When you can't eat all that other crap - the breakfast SUCKS.
Discovered there was a farmers market at the town near camp and in a complete frontal lobotomy on my part I changed plans. I should have just taken a poop in the middle of Nana's carpet for her reaction. I hate it when Bubba does this to me - I say something then you say nothing or do what you want or withhold a piece of information that would change the situation and I am left with not only egg on my face but the entire freaking omelet. Yeah. Then add rain, thunder, power outage, tree in the road and oober bitchy Nana - what a joy. I was in the dog house but it was too crowded so I was just in the shit.
My sister was thrilled when she showed up later in the night and Nana was WELL into the wine - somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5 bottles. And me stone cold sober. Life doesn't suck much more than that one boys and girls. Nana on a drunken rate and me the brunt of all it. What a great way to start a weekend. Dear old Dad - tried to tend but it was not a good start to the weekend.
Add in just as the power went out my neighbors were on a call from the place "helping" their daughter. She's checking herself out. Phone goes dead - we sent them up the hill to where cell phones work, an hour later they come back, some frank talk that Mrs. Neighbor didn't want to hear. I know that it has to be something close to impossible to walk your daughter to a place where all control is gone. Now not only is control gone, so are all the safety nets. At this point she has to fall down hard without that net - then and only then will things change. I feel bad for good people.
Saturday arose with potential, we did our breakfast casseroles. Most folks were complimentary - again I thought and it was to keep Nana out of the freaking kitchen all weekend. I don't know why I tried. Everyone was fed and minimal dishes were done. A new canopy was put up - with many parts and slots A through Z then the roof and netting. Pap couldn't wait to get rid of this thing - and he still has it. Bubba and I discussed nice to have for the October BBQ and the word Craig's list came up. We'll talk to Pap later.
My brother and his family arrived, and that was when all hell broke loose, 5 kids, 5 dogs, cranky adults, I hid inside for bit with my nose buried in a book. I figured it was safer. My brother broke out the chain saw, Bubba and family friend and long lost brother M helped brother dear with wood gathering...
We had another new addition to this mess, a grand son of M's new wife. She's fine a nice person - her grand son is the whiniest little boy I have ever met. OMG. Every time he didn't get his way he cried and whined, and hit and knocked things over then his 'aunt' who is all of 9 or 8 goosed him along at every opportunity. It was an interesting dynamic to watch and it got old in a big fat old hurry.
The low country boil was the high light of the weekend for all I got to eat. But I enjoyed what I had. We did Pap birthday - my sister made one sinful cake - which I got to taste a whole lot later than everyone else. But I did get to taste it. We did get fire - Nana again was enjoying her wine and letting everyone know her opinions on everything. She didn't like when anyone said anything to her about said opinions but hey we did it anyway. Its not like she remembers most of it anyway. Brother dear did post drunken puppy love on Facebook... enjoyed that one.
Sunday of course was the nicest day - and we left for a nice long ride - and as I said good bye to Nana couldn't resist the parting shot - of "I'll be fine - you're going home." Thanks for that one.
We arrived home without much trouble, Bubba mowed the lawn, I cleaned up doggie land mines and ate leftovers and died. Should have went to bed earlier than I did. Today was a long day.
ON to today's rant re: Bubba.... his "early" time tonight was 8 PM. He's eating dinner at 9 PM and all I want to do is go to bed. In fact I probably will because 4:30 comes awful freaking early in the morning. And his tighty-whitey fanny is still sound asleep when I leave.
Now we are having trouble with the HD channels on the dish and Mr. PITA refuses to believe it and gets all cranky when they don't record. I know this and the show I want to watch I record on the non-HD channel to make sure I get it. Dorkus
Oh goodie now it's my fault he can't record... yep going to bed.
Did I mention my old pups have basically been asleep since we got home Sunday? There was a brief period of activity when I got home from work today followed by dinner, and now more napping. It won't take much to get them moving to go to bed. In my next life I'm coming back as a trophy wife's purse dog.... so I can nap all day.
Say - what will Tuesday bring? I am almost afraid to ask.

Dragging to the finish line...
We are T-20 until I blow the Popsicle stand known as work... with one stop to get Nana her requested wine. No worries. Then trek home to MD, pack me, the dogs, the car, and think of a portable dinner for Bubba the work-a-holic and we are wheels up ASAP. We are crashing at Nana's tonight - and then CAMP on Friday. It sounds like most of Friday and into Saturday we will have the place to ourselves - note to self tell the neighbors to enjoy the quiet it won't last long. (Hence Nana needing the wine run.)
I am not ready but - I have a list - I have several. 90 minute meetings where people blather on - very productive time to create such a list. And I did. I even have things already done and scratched off the list. I am that good.
Now if only my package would arrive tonight - birthdays would be tended and I would have the full trifecta. Aunt Ing is Wonder Woman - and don't you forget it.
Bonus - last night we had a massage - ahhhhhhh - and he looked at me before the session and said - Oh yeah I can really tell. (in your face)
How big WAS my face?
I guess it would be inappropriate for him to say with me laying on the massage table - oh yeah I can tell so much less of you to push around... yeah that would have sucked. We'll stick to the face thing.
I saw the surgeon yesterday 1 month follow up - they were very pleased I am doing good things and the right things so... don't have to go back until September - blood work and stuff. She added another pill to my daily dose of vitamins but hey life does not suck right now (knocking wood). That karma witch is every where and she enjoys those industrial sized blenders a bit too much. According to the Doc - 23 pounds gone! Aunt Ing is happy camper!
All right signing off for the weekend. Will recap all the traveling fun with Bubba the can't leave work at work man, the neighbors, worried Nana, 12 kids and one bathroom without a lot of water...
As I said in my planning email to everyone - gentleman - claim your tree early. Chicks need plumbing.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Too pooped already....
Its Tuesday and I'm already tired and ready for the weekend. Work continues to be nuts - we stayed 30 minutes later tonight on the promise of good words in a very public meeting - yeah... 30 minutes in we headed home, without those nice words - they may have been said but without our knowledge.
So we got home late, I ran to Trader Joes' bought them out of Mac and Cheese for my brother, a quick something for dinner then home to get things ready for the weekend. And Yes I'm starting on Tuesday ... we're leaving Thursday night - much to Nana's shargin I'm sure. I baked a lemon pound cake tonight, and make up the breakfast casserole for Sunday. It had to sit overnight - I will bake it tomorrow and it will be very good come Sunday.
Upside, Wednesday night Aunt Ing has a massage ... yeah baby.
Bubba has been quiet today - he's been fed, and has control of the remote. All is right in his world.
I'm tired so this is quick hit.
Oh bonus - got text and email and phone calls - Maryland Rainbow girls took first place in the National competition for their speaking parts. Half that team - were my kids... Busting buttons here...
How cool is that?
