Well, that implies there were issues - there was not. Bubba was up and out the door early to go with his guy friends to the gun show in VA, Aunt Ing was also up as so were the pups and with every one's new schedule we're up early...
So, up fed, putzed, then putzed too long 2 minutes late for my hair appointment, got my hair done, came home got the turkey in the oven, cleaned up the place bit got some things organized, did some laundry, and basically enjoyed the quiet time... alone... ahhhh
I got a phone call from the Ladies group wanting ME to go to COSTCO the Saturday before thanksgiving for paper supplies... oh sweet Lord shoot me now. Now as I had a turkey in the oven I wasn't about to go off and leave it cooking without adult supervision. Of course when Bubba got home from "boy-time" his reaction was - as we can all predict - was less than happy. Oh let's just say it - Major Crankypants came out to play. And it wasn't much fun. So I leave him with the turkey - or as I chose to think of it - left the roasting turkey with the cranky turkey and prepared to do battle at the Costco.
I got lucky and got a parking place, grabbed a cart, pulled out my list and made my way through the throngs of people found 9/10's of what I needed, then had to stop a nice man and ask him where he got his paper towels... they moved things on me and I was NOT happy about it.
But thanks to Mr. Nice Guy - found paper towels, after fighting my way through moochers alley where the sample ladies were set up in the most narrow space possible!!! Oh plans this? ANY way... made my way through - got the paper towels and prepared to do battle with the check out stand.... all in all not too bad in out and done in less than an hour.. then to the lodge, dump all this stuff off, and then pick up dinner as Major Crankypants didn't want to go out and Aunt Ing didn't want to cook. So Chinese in, dinner enjoyed and me crashed on the couch by 10 PM. It's a sad commentary isn't it?
Sunday was a bit more packed, up and putzing until Bubba yells that Mr. Fiance-guy is coming at 10 -- time he tells me this 9:55. So up running splash, splash, dress dress, wait wait - then I carve the turkey while we're waiting, and I get done and we've got 2 hours before we have to go to dinner... THEN Bubba decides we're going to rake leaves. Now he started to give me the crappy job of putting leaves in a bag, I - well - bitched didn't want to get all icky before dinner - fine I got to rake. So I rake, the front yard, nice neat little piles, he is still in one corner that he raked putting things into a bag.
So help him bag up, I get more done than he does - when I point this out he says with deep sarcasm "yeah I'm slow" - um yes pumpkin you are.... so we bag this project, I wash up again, get myself almost put together and we head off to dinner at 2:00 PM.
Dinner is carb-fest and not all that bad, I am on clean up crew so I want to get that started as soon as possible, so I skip the brown bag auction and head to do dishes. Now as things are 9/10's done people start to leave! There is still pies and such sitting out, when they say I dunno - I toss it all. You're leaving and I'm staying here to deal with this... screw it. Came home and died. Oh yeah and did another load of laundry. In bed - IN BED at 9:35 Sunday night... what am I 12?
And still 4:30 came early today... but as this is my only day at work, tomorrow promises to be full of adventure we'll keep in touch over the holiday...
Stay tuned for weekend with the family and dinner with the in-laws!
OH!! I did have the 'conversation' with the hubby regarding our four legged children I think we're going to cart crates up to my in-laws and lock them up when we get there allowing for another 90 minutes of time to our day - oh goodie. So much for Plan A to get me the heck outta dodge early. ;-)
Thinking nothing but happy thoughts with unicorns dancing for this holiday!
