Thursday was a major shift in the Bubba - Aunt Ing's relationship... Bubba had to stay and work from home while Aunt Ing got to get up go to work and not think about the window and door installers coming to the house and oh yeah the bug guy too - later in the day... what freedom! What Bliss! What Happiness... what dread about how many phone calls I was about to get that day....
The day ticked on and it was surprisingly quiet... until about 2:30 then it was - hey there is this issue do you mind X? Hey are you here this weekend, door guy can't finish today - do you know the color of this living room?? Where is the paint cans? Didn't they leave any here - where is this... and I could tell Bubba had had enough... (giggling here would be wrong - but I did it anyway).
When I arrived home, Bubba of course was gone - he had something important to do like going to the bank and withdrawing his Vegas money. He was complaining about that due to bank drive thru limits... it's Vegas. They know him - heck they put "Vegas trip" on the flipping bank statement!! But still alas - he had to go back Friday and get the rest... (again giggling here would be wrong - but I did it anyway- again) I'm human, sue me.
When Bubba got home, he then began to tell him of his day - and at this point as we were now face to face, I couldn't really giggle - but I smiled.... a lot. He detailed the day of 6 window installers, one door man, two dogs, and the bug guy - toss in an open back yard gate, one black dog sleeping happily in the sun on the deck, the other brown dog off exploring the neighbors with the gate open.... rookie. The way to keep track of brown dog, insert blanket next to where you are preferably in the sun or partial sun, tell her to lay down, perhaps add a cookie incentive and you're good for at least 3 hours. Do not allow brown dog in back yard when you know gate is open - she's not a quick as she used to be but give her enough time she will hobble over there... like Thursday. Snicker. Of course the ever patient and tender bubba barked "get over here" Violet in her doggie wisdom immediately headed in the opposite direction. Is it any wonder I love that dog? Of course now Bubba is detailing all of this and he is smiling so I know he's thinking I am leaving for Vegas on Saturday and I can put all this behind me.
I can't tell you the enjoyment I gained for listening to all this... welcome to my world pumpkin where you must juggle your work responsibilities of getting stuff done, handling the folks in your house with questions and issues, in my case handling the 12 phone calls from the control freak at work, and of course tending to our pups. The last - for me being the easy part. But I've had more practice. I held back from kissing my government boss on Friday for the inability to work from home and simply based for another day.... heaven.
It's a Bubba free weekend... we'll chat Monday.
