It's early oh -so - didn't want to get up this morning, but I did. Thankfully it's Friday so traffic wasn't too bad, I got into work without too much trouble. Got some things to get done before I am trapped in a warm room watching numbers and stuff scroll by then searching through those reams and reams of data for that one nugget of information that proves the software did what it was supposed to do... oh yeah it's an exciting life I lead isn't it?
Yesterday was a busy stressful day; however I do believe that we are successful testing up here in VA which will prevent traveling back to Alabama... it's a grand thing isn't it? Hold your breath that we will repeat this level of success... of course I'm not sure if my tester buddy is in yet... I will have to kill him if he's not... OH so glad I stayed later last night and printed off clean test copies. OH my yes - that way I don't have to wait for him to get his stuff together.
Bubba and I had a very funny conversation last night as I was putting dinner together -- don't get excited I got a chicken from the grocery store and tossed a veggie at him... Any who... we laughed that we could both quit these stressful jobs and go to work for the local Grocery store... I mean union wages, our house is paid off, the cars (knock wood) are ours we don't have kids to put through college, retirement would be significantly impacted but hey! We'll be very very happy!! Or least a whole lot less stressed!
I did mention that I figured Bob would last about a week in that job - after all he'd have to deal with the public, and folks who don't think in terms of two plus two really equals four.
I figured I'd last a good two weeks... maybe three... after all we generally don't get snow in May. Generally.
Of course all the pampered prince and princess stuff we enjoy regularly would come to a screeching halt so that small fantasy faded like Shelby's dinner. (she eats really quick for those who don't know)
Ok time now 8:36 - tester is NOT in the office we were supposed to have started 6 minutes ago.... it would be wrong to sit in front of his office with the procedures and staring at my watch -- wouldn't it... I've rolled my unhappy fanny out of bed at 5:30 (ish) this morning to make sure I was here on time -- he lives closer. If you can't make the agreed upon time skippy - let me know...
And of course as I type this in he walks... back to the lab. Continue chanting... no more travel... no more travel....
It's what on my mind today chatting to everyone and no one. Its cheap therapy for me ;-)

3 whole days...
Since last we spoke, let's recap the time shall we? Saturday Bubba up early in his oh- so - considerate way you know suitcase on the bed, lights on, muttering to himself, etc. SO laying on the doorbell the next time I have to hit the road early - line says Thursday. I was up and moving to deal with the Girl's group book sale - all day.
A bit of entertainment late in the day a man walked in and cruised the books, selecting checking, asked if we had a restroom - took his sweet time in there... came back and for the better part of an hour checked books... now what made the whole situation weird (other than all this stuff). Let me describe this guy... short, soccer cleats, fleece shirt that looked like it had been through the shredder but the kicker was his hair, this was bed head on some bad drugs. How to truly describe this mess so you all have a picture... think dread locks the early years - hair was long but only shoulder length and the top of his head he had a Cindy-lou-who pony tail up top - only it looked like a bulb of matted stuck together hair. Around the bulb there were tuffs of various lengths sticking out with some stuck in clumps other just sticking out everywhere... think every child predator mug shot you've ever seen and that is pretty much this guy... creepy.
He finally left and telling me as we helped him load up his books that he teaches little kids soccer and he was glad he was able to make the sale. Oh yeah we were thrilled too... yeesh no way I'd let my kids near this guy... dude it's called soap, water, shampoo and a hair cut. $4.99 at the Hair cuttery - look into it. Ick.
Sunday - ah Sunday. I didn't get to sleep in (thanks Shelby) but I didn't get dressed until almost noon, putzed around, had a "discussion" with the husband about yard work HE thought I should be doing Sunday(remember HE'S in Vegas). I told him it was raining. And it had - that morning, and of course the sun came out in the afternoon - I still didn't care. This was my day OFF and I was going to be selfish. I'd be a monkey's uncle before I was going to fight the crowds at Home Depot lugging 5 - 25 pound bags of mulch and extra stuff to come home and deal with weeds. And they still aren't done. It will be next weekend. I have to get my oil changed this week... before my engine blows up!
Then came Monday - raining and yucky traffic stucked. Got into work staff meeting was wonderfully uneventful... busy busy catching up on stuff. Then the afternoon hit the shredder... we had the Lessons Learned meeting from the testing mess of last week - or as I like to call it "How can we avoid sending QA to Huntsville again and costing me a fortune." I had pages of notes from my trip, I had a process I would have liked to try out so I don't have to go bopping off to Huntsville with 5 minutes notice and another ruined weekend... (count now stands at 2)
Of course the reception I got for my ideas were met with dead silence so I am safely assuming that ALL parties are on board for this idea... (sarcasm boys and girls) but I'm going to do my level best to try and make things work from my end - and have a bag packed (with extra stuff) just in case. Today is another busy day - and Aunt Ing is not thrilled with this but it is what it is.
Now the cherry on my poo Sundae of a Monday? I found out that the guy I have been fighting with to do the parts of his job - goes to HIS management and says he needs support because QA in VA isn't support him... to say I was HOT is an understatement. I have spent the last YEAR on this job trying to get him to do something along the lines he's claiming he now needs support. And still thinking about it gets me mad as hatter. And now my Tuesday is brimming over with things to do and not he will to get them done I guess I better sign off...
Bubba is home late tonight - stay tuned

Sitting on pins and needles....
The software is packaged, the process is in the works... things are almost - well I don't want to jinx it... I mean... it could maybe - I hope slow down a bit? Please?
Ok it's out the door - the day before is quiet - I still have a half a ton of work left to do today but it's in my office cocoon, with my Pittsburgh sports radio screaming about baseball, hockey and trying to figure out how the one guy drafted last night to the Steelers will help the team and keep the B team QB safe until the Quarter-groper comes back into the line up.
Day 2 eating better - sucks. ;-) turned down ice cream last night and I am desperately searching my brain for something for dinner tonight. I think I have it - Bubba won't be thrilled but he's leaving for Vegas in the AM so - live with it. My other thought on this trip is he doesn't sleep when he goes to Vegas - and he hasn't been well rested as of late so I can't see this being a good thing. But he needs time away from that job.
I need time away from my job too... I think Bubba gone for the weekend should be the trick. Long enough to enjoy the peace and quiet and short enough to get back to evening conversation.
All right I'm off to clean my desk because if I don't the papers are going to bury me alive!!!
Last thought - I nagged at the boss this morning via email that I didn't think it was so nice that we sat around waiting for the royal tech lead in Alabama until the wee hours of the night and he better treat our builder gal right! He just sounded on the phone later a bit beat and annoyed so I pledge to myself to stop being the whiner on the project. I'll eat carrots. and blog - a lot.
Sorry this is so short - I think the brain is heading for a major shut down. ;-) I might close the door and nap.

Just found something to do this weekend
With Bubba jetting off and the weather man predicting a lot of rain... I will be washing every dish I own... why?
My idiot husband unloaded the dishwasher and didn't notice it hadn't been run yet.... let me rehash that call shall we?
Call home Monday - staying another night - home late Tuesday
Is the cleaning lady coming?
I don't remember check the kitchen calendar
It says clean
Then she's coming tomorrow, get her payment and get the dishes out of the sink.
Is the dishwasher clean?*
I am pretty sure I ran it - check it.**
*Can't you tell if a dish is clean by looking at it? **Did you check it?
The answer to both of those questions is... NO. How did I make this discovery? While I was checking the blackberry and making dinner and wondering if this week was ever going to end I noticed the sliverware looked a bit - dirty and as I pulled fork, and knife and spoon out of the drawer... eeewwwwww...
I washed everything before we ate off of it. Totally gross and ick.
And on another note while I am documenting the idiocy that is man... I'm coming back as one in my next life! I mean really! We both got home late tonight, I went to the fridge, the the freezer made a dinner plan, got the oven going, went upstairs and changed clothes, talked to Bubba about another day I would rather forget, gathered up the laundry, then came downstairs, got dinner started, loaded up the dish washer (before I discovered the ick) got it started, washed the remaining dishes mostly from last night's dinner, kept the current dinner going, discovered he was an idiot - served dinner, ate and started the laundry.
He came home, changed, fed the dogs, and brought down the laundry because - well it was in the direction he was headed. Then he watched hockey. Which is still on - I can't watch - they are killing me... plus I had to log on to the work computer to check on something for this release.
Now we are all waiting for the guy in Alabama to give it his seal of approval. Hustle up there big boy the girls need their beauty rest - and we haven't gotten much of it lately.
Signing off to wonder why...
Second overtime... yikes

Excuse me a moment...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (in and)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem, thank you. I had to get that out. I might be home but life certainly hasn't slowed down... well it kinda did. 9:00 AM this morning I left home, had a 15 minute stop off to dump the diet "doctor" and then SAT and SAT in traffic. 2 hours to get to work today and in a fit of I'm a total idiot--- got off the beltway (which was down to one lane many many miles ahead of me).
Basically ended up going all around my elbow to get to my thumb. But I was moving and it felt better. So I strolled into work very fashionably late, and I haven't stopped since.
Expense report was done by the very helpful admin so I did organize my receipts and she waved her wand and wha-la- it's done! I had to sign it with my magic password and away it went.
I have spent my day checking, rechecking, closing out, marking up and generally making sure every t is crossed and i dotted and then going back and doing it again.
THEN we had a status check call (remember across states and time zones) and found that something that was supposed to be done within 2 seconds is actually logging a time of 2 MINUTES. And for more fun... I MISSED THAT A MONTH AGO. Now in my defense I was focused on getting other pieces of the testing puzzle working, trying to figure out what she was doing when, and I just missed a major issue. I won't mention that trying to track that logged time is not a nice easy "oh here it is" it's a long @$$ list of numbers and letters with some actual English tossed in for a good time that you have to sort through on the screen - a FULL screen of this crap to find the 2 -second time difference. My week of atta boys has just hit the shredder.
Great day to start eating right. Carrots are no substitute for candy - but I am reminded again and again how crappy I felt on this trip - how much I detest airplane seats made for a size 2 - and just how tight the fat lady pants are getting.
So now I sit - the hour growing late waiting for the next status call to see how late this day might be... or how much longer Friday just got.
Ok - onto another topic --- my QB. Suspended 4-6 games. I hope that hurts the old wallet Big Boy. Perhaps that rattled brain with then stop and think before following a drunk college girl into a bathroom and have her think that is some version of romance. Idiot.
The Monitor-on-Moron (MoM) position offer still stands - think about it. You big dork.
So Stiller Nation gets to enjoy an opening month of Charlie or Bryant with a sprinkle of QB with a clip board paper cut. Yeah. What fun. What else goes on in September - perhaps I should find out. Because football is not going to be much fun. Well who knows the B team could step up and surprise us all - not counting on it.
And it's a hockey night in Pittsburgh... go boys. I am finding the less the said the better.
OH - stupid Canadians beat those CAPS! So don't want to see them in the conference final - yeesh.
That is all from work hell. Please if you're talking to the supreme deity of your choice please include me that the boss doesn't come up here and kill me for missing that 118 second difference in logging. Please?

Is it really just Tuesday - and now Wednesday...
Of course one loses all track of day and time when you aren't home, and doing nothing but driving for 10 minutes between hotel, and office and working all hours of the day and night. But today right now boys and girls I am escaping the gripping clutches of Huntsville Alabama. It's been a week since I landed here, tired, cranky and ready to get this done and over with... little did I know that an ENTIRE WEEK later I would be returning home.
But returning home I am. 10 minutes and I will be on a place pointed in the right direction. AND bonus as I finally got my own frequent flyer number I didn't have to pay for my checked bag!! Hey! Not that I was paying for this stuff anyway the company was. But still...
I talked to Mom today - who I must say scared the pants off of me... let me 'slpain..
This is where I boarded the plane yesterday and got home and loved the girls and went to bed!!!
SO! Let me finish that story - plot the plan of Wednesday and let us all get back to our lives hum? Shall we?
So all day Tuesday I am on pins and needles just waiting for the other shoe to drop and I would be stuck in Alabama all that much longer. I was really on pins when my partner in crime in quality was talking to our boss and with all there was left to do... he asked if I was still "in the office" ahahhhhhhhh
THEN as I was rushing (sneaking) out the door to head to the airport, my work cell phone rang... almost didn't answer the darn thing. Then I saw it was Mama so I was safe. She didn't know I was still in the land of cotton so it was cool We talked once I got to the airport, turned in the rental car, got through security... bla bla bla... We talked - she explained her email - which I will document later and I think label "old people need watched" but its a work in progress.
I got on the plane, LOTS of people with me, of course I was getting used to my 6 AM 6 people flights. I was flying home, at a normal time with people who do the same type of work I do... and never shut up about it... cripes and enough already.
TOTAL BONUS - landed early AND I didn't have to deal with the shuttle home, 40 minutes and home not 40 stops between me and home. Got home had some ice cream with the Bubba, loved the puppies, cleaned their ears and brushed their teeth -oh yeah they are sooo happy Mommy was home.
Today has been the day of poke-prod-and are we done already? Passed my physical, pass my ultra sound, went to the diet doctor and by the time I got home I realized that this wasn't what I expected, wanted or want to deal with -- so we're going to face facts. I don't want all those drugs and no support - so all the drugs are going back. AND I'm going to have to start making better decisions and taking care of me. Heaven help me.
Step one - get ride of the crap in the house.
Good thing Bubba is leaving for Vegas this weekend so I can clean house and not listen to "We spent money on this..." 2 crumbs of potato chips are not being saved. Ice cream is gone, prepared foods will be donated. Heaven help me I'm going to have to cook, chop and plan ahead. This last trip brought a lot of things home and the size of my pants was just one of them.
Of course I could also then just toss up my hands and call the doc and schedule surgery. ;-) Let's hope I can do some good on my own.
OK I've still have got a few hours of work to make up for being at the doctor's all day. Tomorrow should prove entertaining... and not in the good way.

While I have a minute...
My work partner in crime is here, we did dinner last night, breakfast this morning... I filled her in and not soon enough I'm dumping this mess and high tailing it home. Of course my flight isn't until 5:00 Central time, I land then have to drive myself home, that should be fun. I think by now I will have forgotten how to get back to my house. I'll wing it.
Thinking I was going to work later that we did I had caffeine with dinner - BIG mistake. As we pooped out and started making stupid mistakes we knew it was time to bag it. Problem was I went back to the hotel, washed my face, brushed my teeth, laid and bed, finished my book and was still wide freaking awake at 2:00 AM. Finally fell asleep and woke with 20 minutes to spare to meet my work partner in crime. If I left anything in that hotel room - it's theirs. I know I got the important stuff - at least I hope I did...
Another fun fact I have discovered this never ending week... I am allergic to the soap here in the office, I've got 2 fingers that look like Shelby has chewed on them and a couple of blotches on my hands.. I had to narrow it down from hotel soap (my hands the only thing affected - so no) hotel hand cream (used that on my face - no problem) then it hit me Saturday afternoon when I sat scratching and I thought about what I had just touched... bathroom soap. So... ewwww I use hot water and move on. ;-)
We are running down to the wire with the testing, final set ups are being done, and here I sit waiting for that, Pam is running the last of the stuff we were supposed to finish last night and I hope to high heaven I can tell the boss that yes - finally indeed we are done. And where is my masseur named Sven and his magic fingers - not to mention an entire troop of men to wash out all this mess of a week.... that started some time last month - I think. What day it is again?
I haven't even given thought to what my house looks like - an entire 5 days Bubba has been home alone. (shutter) He did mention that he ate out most nights and did some yard work this weekend. I did nag at him to stay home a bit and give the puppies a break from the crates.
I can't wait to get home and love my girls ... there is nothing as nice as puppy kisses and love. I have to figure out a way to travel with one of them - oh yeah that is so going to happen.
Well I'm going to sign off get another cup of liquid encouragement and start hounded my tester to speed it up a bit. (he's dragging as far if not lower than I am)
Later - hopefully tomorrow we will have rainbows and sunshine and puppy dog kisses-- or maybe just more of me whining about my life in general... stay tuned.

Shoulda - woulda-coulda
Shoulda posted earlier today
Woulda if anything interesting had happened
Coulda come up with something..
Worked today from 2 PM until 10 PM - my brain is dead
My back is killing me and I'm getting on that plane tomorrow I don't care if there are flames coming out of every machine in the building. In fact I may set fire to them myself....
I will update Tuesday because Monday is looking crappy as this never ending past week...
Good night.
oh and Nana, got your email - I need sleep, a translation or an explanation - will call next week.

Highs and Lows
Yes we've had them all here lately.... last night was chock full of them. To the point where I think I'd like to get off this roller-coast and have a nice relaxing ice cream cone and maybe a ride on the lazy river - wadda say huh?
On a high note, I got 2 count 'um 2 gift cards to go shopping at Macy's for putting in all these extra hours.
Low note - no Macy's in Huntsville I have to wait until I get home to use them
High note - dinner out a good solid hour or so break away from testing and machines.
Low note - had to go back to work post dinner
High note - the milkshake I had with my salad was good
Low note - had the sugar jumpies for a bit - still enjoyed the milkshake
High note - got back to the hotel in time to see 3/4's of Gladiator on TV
Low note - got back to the hotel an hour before I had planned to do a major software error which blew away our plans for the night.
High note - didn't come into work until 10 AM
Low note - woke up at 7:20 Am anyway..
And again I had to tell the hotel - no really seriously not leaving until Monday. Really. I find another check out slip under my door tomorrow morning I am not going to be a happy camper.
I also found the local Cracker Barrel - guess what I am doing for breakfast tomorrow morning?? We have already discussed we're starting later on Sunday, my testing partner has obligations on Sunday mornings and me the heathen is not going to circle greater Huntsville looking for a Catholic Church - I'm sleeping in - (forgive me please)
And on my final high note of the night - Pens won... yeah. One game... keep going boys It's a long road back to hoisting that cup.
That is all for now - I'd post from my hotel but it has to be the last hotel in America that doesn't have some kind of in room Internet!! No I'm not kidding and it's freaking killing me... sort of - mostly that is the place were contacts come out, teeth are brushed and I hit the bed and die. So frankly if I hadn't been up early this morning I wouldn't have noticed it at all.
Enjoy YOUR Saturday and we'll talk soon. There is a promise I get to go home Monday - I may escape whether they let me or not...
I should practice, "Welcome to Wal-Mart - get your sh-- and get out"** Yeah I could do that job.
**Jeff Dunham fans will get that one.

A bit disappointed....
Went to an Alabama Wal-Mart at 10:45 PM last night and didn't see anything fun. Just regular people tired and beat like me shopping at the undogly hour of 11:00 PM. No feather boas, no strange print clothing ill-fitting and inappropriate... just regular Joe's. Makes you wonder where all those pictures come from on that web site.... you know the one... people who shop at .... you know...
Any who... post work went and found it, got some survival gear for my extended stay flight, car and hotel are tended, husband is tended if not enjoying my working so hard. "Try doing it for a year and half" he quips - with a cut in pay. Thank you no. This stinks for the9 days I've been doing it already... hum? only 4 days you say? Really? Look at my time card, I've put in two extra days and a bit already this week - and I'm working the weekend. Don't talk to me about the number of days in this week skippy.
On a happy note did find low-fat blue berry muffins at the Wal-Mart for breakfast, the in room coffee isn't bad, but the cups don't come with lids so it was a bit of a balancing act to the car but I made it... and drank half the cup before I left. Also found some granola that looks like the good stuff at Costco at home, so cross your fingers. I figure that is better snacking for me than the junk food they have stashed in the other testing lab for the 2o-something code jockeys who work all hours of the day and night.
One final thought on my stay here in the lovely deep south.... it would be wrong to put a threatening note on the air conditioning unit in my hotel room stating to the housekeeping crew that if they turn that thing off again I will be forced to random acts of messy violence and will make them change the sheets every night I sleep in that bed AND I will change beds (there are 2 in my room) when I get up in the middle of the night to potty. Yeah that would be wrong... but if they turn it off again - I will be forced to take action like super gluing the button in place or something. Nothing too drastic.
It was way too warm when I pulled in last night and Aunt Ing don't do warm room to sleep in. I prefer the temperature somewhere down around "meat locker". Of course the way things are going - I could probably just sleep in my car and eliminate the hotel expense - but I won't. I don't function without shower and thankfully in room coffee. And that whole indoor plumbing thing we've talked about before...
Enjoy YOUR Friday I will be a small beige box (without Russell posters) watching code and crap scroll by... yeah it's a living... NO it's a job. I beginning to wonder when I get to do some living. ;-) Some time next week I think.
Boy this is one whiny post isn't it? Stay tuned maybe dinner will be good. ;-)

OMG Day 2
First note to self check the volume of your hotel alarm clock or be prepared to oversleep by 40 minutes and BOY aren't I glad that was all!!!
Second I don't like the hotel I am in this time, Hampton is much better, plus breakfast, just coffee from these other cheap SOB's.
Third, remember Aunt Ing you're an hour behind so a Meeting notice for 8:30 is really 7:30 here... as I was going through a drive through because I overslept and have to eat crap for breakfast.
Now I am trapped in testing hell and hoping against hope that I will be done some time before 2 AM... cross your fingers.
UPDATE: We are now into hour 9 of my captivity, on the up side we've ordered dinner, on the down side we've ordered dinner. The plan is to work until 10 PM tonight... AND tomorrow night along with the weekend.
Yes boys and girls my flight has been changed my hotel stay extended and oh crap just remembered got to deal with the rental car...
OH and I get to experience an Alabama Wal-Mart some time about 10:30 PM because well Aunt Ing didn't pack for 6 days she packed for 3... you do the math. And did I mention that I spilled part of dinner down yesterday's shirt? SO going to the mall this weekend. But Wal-mart is fine for those certain unmentionables... plus they are open 24 hours unlike the mall.
And I fully intend to drink heavily as soon as possible - like next Tuesday and possibly on the flight home.
Stay tuned.

I got up at 3AM why??
I have been cooling my heels here in the deep south since 7:30 Central time waiting for this team to get it's act together.... I got up at 3 AM, drove my sleepy fanny to the airport, missed the long term parking once, made a loop, found it on the second pass, missed the entrance, found a spot turned around, pulled in parked, and got lucky when the shuttle showed up right then and there... got to the gate, checked in, and in a fit of "I'm doing this too much" knew which way to go to get into the security line toward the gate, went through the strip search of security... and for a change, the watch didn't set it off, the purse wasn't searched it was like almost no security at all... AND I didn't get the swab of bomb stuff! OMG
Another 6 passenger charter flight but instead of a friendly Southern based flight crew I got cranky and lazy New York Based crew - hey honey thanks for the shot of coffee who do I have to kill to get a refill?? Not that I did get one... AND the other stew gave me a couple extra cookies (which are really good) "for later". Must make a note to get the good flight crew, the New York crew sucked.
So.... I arrived at the office - missed the building again but didn't get as lost as I thought I was going to without my mapquest directions. Thankfully the rental car place had directions to the hotel, I knew the hotel was close to the office and kinda winged it from there... ANY way... got here, 45 minutes before anyone else showed up, got set up in a place with internet access when someone finally made it in, then waited, then heard there was an issue, no we fixed, it ok we can go -- ah nope still an issue. And here I sit blogging listening to hockey talk from da 'burgh... after all the playoffs start tonight - now the question is do I have Versus on the hotel cable!
I probably have the NASCAR channel.
And on a final note...Bubba - dear dear pain in the... ah Bubba. He's cranky about a trip I'm taking in June, he is cranky about something else, he's cranky because I haven't mulched the dog wood tree out front... bla bla bla. Get a new job Bubba and get over yourself. I am not happy about my travel either -but there is never a discussion of you not doing things at home when you're not here... I just do it... but that is so not Bubba's way.
WTF does he do? I mean I got 4 minutes notice of travel yesterday worked a LONG day, still went to the grocery store, cooked dinner, cleaned up the kitchen before and after cooking dinner ran the dishwasher, cleaned out the fridge, packed and went to bed at 9:30!!! He took the trash out to the curb and let the dogs out... oh and I made him feed them breakfast this morning.
Yeah my cranky is getting pushed too... quickly hitting the wall and I'm still waiting.
Any takers on how many glasses will be in the sink when I get home Friday?

OK I have 2 minutes...
Tuesday has been a wreck - Monday was a sink hole - the rest of my week isn't looking much better.
Here is my week thus far - and remember (I keep having to remind myself) that today is just TUESDAY!
As previously or not mentioned we have 2 major software releases next week. One Monday and one Thursday. The Test team here here has been labeled - well "challenged" which led to my last - last minute visit to Huntsville AL. I am desperately trying not to go again as it would ruin my weekend - my food munchies party would have to be cancelled I've got two doctor appointments tomorrow!! Cripes.
Now the lead tester just walked in I've got 30 seconds to get back in there we have to do a hard target search for the tester I'm supposed to be sitting on. At this rate I'm going to tie him to the freaking chair! Every step forward I've tried to accomplish today I've had to stop and wait the better part of an hour because something didn't get done right! Grumble Grumble b*tch, b*tch whine whine... yeah yeah yeah.
Now I have to POP off at my Quarterback, first son, it's called shower and a haircut. Figure that out Ben sugar, people tend to think better of a well groomed person than a greasy unkempt hood. And thanks to the Georgia DA I now have more flipping information of your nocturnal activities that ANYONE would ever want to know. YOU FLIPPING IDIOT.
Lock yourself away until Training Camp, enjoy your suspension and I hope they hit your wallet hard. There are 6000 other ways to enjoy being a QB and a young man, forcing a girl in the lowest of low situations endears you to no one. Go find Jerome and get your sh** together.
/End Rant. Back to beating up testing.
Oh - and please ignore the news wire flash about 5:30 today that states, "Women buys out wine and beer supply in Northern VA Target. She said she was thirsty."
And I will be.
UPDATE NUMBER 2: Guess who will be on a 6 AM flight to Huntsville AL tomorrow? You guessed it - its your favorite Aunt Ing and mine... ME. I have cancelled 3 appointments tomorrow, and my party for Saturday. I can't do party with Bubba home alone for three days and ask him to shop, clean or anything else related to anything constructive.
I may have to hit up the Giant across the street too.. Target's selection is dwindling quickly.
I'm booking an all over body rub this weekend and I'm going to try and figure out how to make my boss pay for it. Stay tuned. Oh and Gigs - great comment and trust me it will be me.

OOBBBER swamped at work - desperately trying not to go to Huntsville again... and cancel my Wednesday and my weekend.... stay tuned..
Just wanted to let you all know I wasn't dead. Testers may be soon but I am not.
Cheers!
grumbly yours,
Aunt Ing

Mellow Yellow...
Yes boys and girls I am as mellow as I generally get... used the Christmas gift - gift certificate today at Elizabeth Arden and boy am I feeling groovy. First a facial, all warm and mellow and hot stones on my neck ahhhhhhh oh yeah babe. I don't know and I don't care how long it was it was wonderful.
THEN a warm cream pedicure and a warm cream manicure - more scrubbing and rubbing and oh my oh my. My toes are Frenched, my finger nails are baby pink and my brain is mush.
Life is good.
Oh and did I happen to mention that Bubba is at work, now he's taking a co-worker to lunch and therefore dinner will be a small and catered affair? aka - pick up a pizza hon I ain't cooking. I did manage to get the laundry from the bedroom downstairs to the laundry room, haven't done anything with it yet but I'll get around to it.
I did go outside and snap some pics of Shelby - I got one of Violet sleeping in the sun - inside on her blankets. Her comfort is TOP priority - no grass for this pampered pooch...
See pic:

The Tree might look familiar it was last posted covered in that white stuff that haunted us last winter... only this time I'm closer to it and Shelby... I tried to get her with the ball in her mouth as is usual in nice weather... but she dropped it too quick.

That is Puppy Zen... anyone else up for a Sunday nap? We're going to need it to face our week. Signing off before the mood fades.

Man and machine...
And now I wish this thing had sound effects... as possibly mentioned before the lawn mower is on it's last legs and has been since late last summer. I was mentioned to a certain penny-pitching-until-the-buffalo-releases person that the time to indeed buy a new lawn mower would be as winter was approaching and folks didn't need one. Did he? No, he looked they weren't on sale so he waited... and now here I sit listening to... BRRRRRR cough die. BRRRRRRRRRRRR cough die. Repeat as necessary... of course now as I type it's been running for a solid 4 minutes, whoops just heard a hick - no up or then it would have died again.
I did mention to him to "just go buy an new one..." but he just gets that Bubba grin on his face as says, "It's a matter of pride now" And it just died again. I can't begin to imagine what tinkering he's done with this thing already today - I was off helping the ladies group (more on that later) the grass is high as we have (as the weather man puts it) that great high warm spring sun and RAIN. For darn near two days - oh and did I mention last week we had 3 days with 90 degree heat! It was wonderful for both man and beast and of course the lawn. Which he is now trying to bail with the lawn mower being held together with twine and bubble gum. Whatever. He thinks since he replaced the belts in the vacuum cleaner he's Mr. Fix-it. Heaven help me then.
Although Bubba did give credit to YouTube for helping with the vacuum cleaner and I quote: "I finally found a use for YouTube - it showed me where the belts were and how to take them off and put them on." Hurray for me. But he's right (make note I won't admit to that very often) it was a better vacuum than the one I bought to replace it. Cleaning tools he'll spend the big bucks on... gag me with a spoon.
Sounds like we're humming along again, cross your fingers. Honestly I have no dog in this fight I don't do grass - the mowing there off -- get your mind out of the gutter really. So if he wants to fight the good fight with that old one - go for it. I've got other things to do. Usually involving his dirty clothes or dishes.
In other news, today was the Ladies' Group Yard sale, thank goodness I was on the late shift, and that meant I got to box up the left over "stuff' and move heavy tables but from what I saw there was a good amount of "stuff" gone and a good pile of money in the box. Of course I did my share, another bag of books for Bob's Grandmother and a pile of miscellaneous stuff for the girls, and a big pink box with a lid and a latch for my brother's nieces or my sisters kid to haul stuff around. It's got paint splatters on it and I'll clean it up a bit but if they beat the living daylights out of it - who cares I paid a $1. I thought it was neat.
The rest of the day looks like bills being paid, balance the ladies' group check book, and figure out what I'm cooking to go with the Hockey Night in Germantown. Our Pens are in the hunt again - and I'm not going to jinx it so we're not going to say any more...
On the other hand - it was a great deal of fun to watch that team just light it up at the last regular season game at Mellon Arena - aka the Civic Arena. My long ago memory of that place? Seeing Rick Springfield with the roof open (it doesn't anymore) with me, my sister the two girls next door and our Moms... who the whole way home said they were going to be deaf for the next year... You know I wish that I had Jesse's Girl... *sigh* He was dreamy.
Cripes I'm old. Off to go cry on my record albums - and everyone I know knows what THOSE are...
died again... and I don't think we're done with the front yard yet... it smaller than the back.
Too tired to celebrate.....
This week has kicked my backside... and today started strangely... Bubba and I were at the bank... PAYING OFF OUR HOUSE. You heard me, we wired the money to the mortgage company this morning. Of course it was all very anti-climatic as all we did was fill out a piece of paper, sign it and give it to the gal in the glass enclosed bubble. (aka teller behind the bank glass)
So a flood of paper work to follow then the house is all ours - as long as we pay the taxes to the state and county win which we live. Heaven help us now... now I will have the Bubba monthly nag about putting away the mortgage payment for our retirement - some time right before I drop dead.
Today already the job is kicking my backside then it's rounding around and slapping me in the head. It is all in fighting, our other team is in Huntsville AL - they don't like us. We keep trying. But every step forward we make, thanks to the code jockeys down in Dixie make some asinine statement that makes us take 3 steps back. It's always "we too busy, we have meetings, we can't do that, we don't want to do all this unnecessary paper work, what the process for this? Is this written down? We can't do that because our customer will just change things.... and my favorite???? "I have NO idea what you all want! OR I have no idea what was supposed to be done." When we KNOW they know as we have the email, meeting minutes and personal witnesses for all these discussions!
As I told the new deputy PM - move these jobs to AL - we'll find other work we are just tired of fighting this fight on a daily basis. And don't think I won't check back and dance the delighted dance when their ratings hit the toilet bowl. Yeah it's not nice but hey - it's me.
The weekend is planned but not overly so, missing a girl's event but working the ladies event, and I've got a Sunday appointment of pampering... and bonus Bubba was planning to go to work. Bliss on Sunday gang! ;-)
All right - off to earn this paycheck... and other stuff. Sorry not terribly exciting today poor Bubba is too beat by the job to drive me crazy on a regular basis.
OH!!! Did I mention his statue is back? We got home Tuesday and - there inside the house (brought in by the dog walker) sat the box - did I touch it? NO did I look at it? Oh no - did I even venture near that box! Oh HECK no. Bubba opened the box, checked that statue over and over and under etc, and when he picked the wrong hand that was broken I KNEW they had done the repair right. I said a prayer heaven-ward that all was now right that the statue had returned and that my cursed and clumsy hands were NO WHERE near the darn thing. It's back in the curio cabinet, and I'll be a monkey's uncle before I touch the darn thing ever again.
That is all for a beat down Friday.

For Hire...
One anal-nit-picky-accountant if you need your accounts accosted, your books balanced, your cash counted or any monetary maneuvers have I got the CPA for you - because if Bubba doesn't find a new job soon I'm going to get his fanny fired and fix this...
He got home last night late as usual, he sat in his chair like a lump, won't talk about it - frankly he said same shit new day (direct quote). He hates this job he hates the man he's working for he looks like someone kicked his favorite toy. Even when he is home he's a lump of general unhappiness. Cripes and enough already.
and of course he's a man which means there will be no talking, no hashing, no nothing, but cranky and grumpy - frankly Aunt Ing has had enough already.
Today started WAY to flipping early but on the up side I'll get to go home early - on the down side I've got a dinner to work tonight... Bubba has a memorial service to attend tonight for a former co-worker so he ought to come home in a real bright mood... I may start drinking when I get home.
Work has been a bit nuts the boss has been in but has graciously decided to leave early so his minions can fight amongst ourselves. We have a major release coming up and we are daily checking in with each other--- until today when our team who is an hour behind us put up a fuss about the time of day - their suggestion was to make it 5:30 East coast time when 3/4's of the team here in Va has headed home hours ago to beat some traffic -- those of us who work late don't want to work THAT late... yeesh already. Of course we all know these guys don't work until 8AM their time and heaven forbid they stay in the office until 5:00 pm - their time.
I foresee a HUGE fight come Monday about this... we are all just tired of fighting with our own team.
I'm heading home, a fight with the traffic, a fight with my eyelids and if I'm really unlucky fight with the weather...
Oh yeah it's a hockey night in Pittsburgh... and that's all I'm going to say about that.
Stay cool.

Wow, yesterday was that boring...
That I didn't even post... I putzed around in the morning then realized the cleaning lady was due in... kitchen had a sink full of dirty dishes, I did a quick email telling them I'd be late got the dishwasher unloaded, reloaded and get the quickly made a run to the bank, bank home, then to work... and a Tuesday full of meetings - the ones I made.
Then I had my review for 5 whole minutes, but I know (as the office walls are thin) that my partner in crime gave him an earful. I haven't had the guts to ask her what the boss said... maybe later. ;-)
Today is the glorious work at home day, its sunny, warm and wonderful. Of course every time I've let the door open it's like I've got honey smeared all over the laundry room as I've got all these bees!! So I managed to chase out the three that hovered and have shut the door! Violet again has the aversion to the back door... I've had to drag her out once because I was pretty sure she "needed" to go out. She even stood outside looking in on an OPEN door and barked at me to let her in... puppy the door is open, the other dog as walked by you with the door open twice - what weird hound dog juju is creeping this dog out? I have no clue...
It was a hockey night in Pittsburgh last night - we played the Washington Capitals... I am SO glad I am working from home today. There is a code jockey on the other side of the floor - HUGE Caps fan... we've had some fun - but this year with the Caps sweeping the Pens - I'm really tried of red in my face. GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER BOYS THE PLAYOFFS START IN A WEEK!!!!! Football is swirling in the toilet bowl - this isn't fun! And that's all I'm going to say about that...
Also today is D-day in terms of my visit to the weight doc... yes think I'm cranky now wait until the diet stuff kicks in. Aunt Ing ain't going to be happy. But I'm hoping this works... of course it's up to me bla bla bla.... just tired of being the chubby chick so I bit the bullet and decided to try this. Status updates as I see fit - or if I'm chewing the network cables for something substantial to eat we may have to talk. ;-)
All right signing off for now may give you a doctor update later today.

Boy are you going to be disappointed...
Sorry gang - if you had your popcorn at the ready and was all snuggled in for a nice in-law chat I'm afraid you're going to be a bit disappointed. No major bomb shells, no major upsets it was all sunshine and roses. Well mostly.
Of course I slept in - of course I had to wake Bubba to get him off the West Coast Time clock, of course my entire morning was behind... let's document the day shall we?
Aunt Ing up and moving, the usual puppy morning routine, showered dressed and waking Bubba.
Iced the cake baked the previous night, got her hor'de-vours together, get some more prep work done... ran the newly repaired vacuum cleaner.
Bubba up, moving, and CRANKY, first he asked if I had indeed ran the vacuum, then he came up from the family room to inform me that I had to throw away HALF the books I own. As I stood in the kitchen hands wet, busy and occupied, I carefully put down the knife I reminded myself that his Mama was on her way and Cranky Bubba has come out to play. What sparked this? I had 3 books sitting behind where I sit on the couch and I had "books laying everywhere and I've destroyed the office" You will note the complete lack of logic, rational thought or consideration to what was being said... knowing this... my pithy comment? "Do you really want to fight about this now?"
He really had no come back because well, all that dribble written above, about his mama coming - kicked in and I said "of course you do." Met emotion of cranky and unhappy with logic and defined things that had happened and he stomped off to do - whatever non-helpful thing he felt was vitally important to do at that moment. Please note the words "Non-helpful" which is also equal to go off and hide to pout or rant - I have no idea what he does when he disappears and frankly yesterday morning I wasn't all that concerned. As long as he wasn't in the kitchen bitchin' at me.
Of course they arrived on time, and well, we had a good chat with the mom-in-law (whom I will now call J.) everyone at home is well... bla bla bla dinner went off without much of a hitch.
Two things from the day that stood out... three actually ....
First the discussion of how much time my non-prego-actually-with-a-future niece is spending with the new baby and the like; she needs to be going away to school. I'm going to have step into it and write her a letter. Oh yeah that will piss off her mama but hey - it needs to be said - get out go away to school get that 4 year degree the money will be there - DO NOT stay home and she really doesn't need to be up there... No I didn't say a word about that to mum-in-law, I asked if she was talking still about going away to school. J didn't know.
Second I found it interesting that J kept talking about niece Ay and how she's cooking (or calling J for advice) to figure out how to do this, and how good Mr. Guy is to baby Joe and how happy is niece Ay and baby J. Of course all we heard was great things about the previous guy who now we hear is a bit idiot who won't sign the divorce papers. Apparently he's mad at niece Ay for taking baby Joe to PA. So that is all screwed up, and J said something about needing a judge and bla bla bla... read (big complicated, expensive mess)
Third is darling Bubba, he and his father spent a great deal of time outside talking, J and I were inside talking as I kept working. And he didn't say much for the rest of the day... never a good sign. Of course it could be work too... but my gut tells me there was not good news forthcoming from dear old Dad and he ain't sharing... probably because he KNOWS I would share with others too... but if he does tell me not talk about it I generally do... unless it's really stupid - but usually I don't. How long do you think it will take me to get it out of him (get your minds out of the gutter...) we'll see.
So let's sum up - good visit, very mellow, Bubba is a butthead and they left early. Great day in my book.
And lastly.... big brother corporate IT has given me back my Pittsburgh Sports Radio - apparently the bucket of chicken, the rum and the prayers worked. (see the movie Major League for that reference.)
Thank you gods of Big Brother Corporate IT.... my life is zennnn

The V people have landed... and the took over Bubba
How do I know? Well first I watch the news - you know what kind of world we're living in... and second... he's been - chipper almost - agreeable. My word I knew then and there someone or something has taken over Bubba.
He mentioned the vacuum cleaner - hard to miss a box in the middle of the living room but if anyone could it would be Bubba. ;-) He was very pleased at the price as he quoted me the price of the one busted we bought um-teem years ago. Who else does that? I have no clue what stuff costs 15 minutes after I bought it.. he can recall that kind of crap in a heart beat - I mean really why waste the brain space on that? But he does...
But he's mowed the lawn - of course I cleaned up the puppy presents, did one load of puppy laundry and have one more to do, make lunch, went to the stores got dog food for Violet, (no they don't eat the same thing... please don't start... pampered hound dog can't eat the organic oober pricey stuff - makes her sick - go figure) Any who... got that - went to Wal-Mart for the coupons-are-about-to-expire-palooza and had a grand old time in the cleaning aisle, the health and beauty aides aisle and oh yeah Bubba wanted lawn weed and feed.
Ventured to the grocery store - you'd think there was another blizzard coming. Got through it got a checker who saw my Steelers shirt asked if I was from PA - said yes, he asked me who to say "rubber band" but he spelled it. I replied with a smile "Gum Band!" I is a Yinzer.
All right, I've got another list to make a hand full of things to get done tonight and Bubba is taking me OUT to dinner. I'm cooking tomorrow I sure as sugar ain't doing it tonight!
Oh and did I mention he's out looking for vacuum cleaner parts? It should cost about $30 bucks to repair the old one. Ok fine... but they are all CLOSED and his mother is coming TOMORROW. and yes he will be begging at the neighbors soon.
Two for today because I'm better tomorrow will be busy X2. Enjoy your weekend, Happy Easter - or not enjoy the weekend.
Later!

Shhhh be very very quiet....
No we're not hunting wabbits - we're making sure Bubba stays asleep for a while. I heard him come home - NO idea what time that was as I was examining the inside of my eyelids at the time - I saw it was him I think, mumbled something in his general direction and the next thing I know I'm getting the paw scrapping layers of skin off coupled with the cold wet nose of "get up now".
That is called the Shelby wake up call. She at least let me sleep in 45 minutes past her usual. She's loving like that. So I'm up, the dogs are tended, I've paid the bills, putzed on the computer, just pulled up quicken and realized I haven't updated the checkbook on the computer in a month! Yikes. Not like me - but in my defense this has been a bit of a busy month.
I got a few things done last night - I got A LOT accomplished before I got home, made a Trader Joe's run, mostly I went for 3 things came out with more... per usual. Got my ham for Easter and did a Target run and got my new vacuum cleaner - now it's still in the box, the receipt is at the ready - because I can promise you Bubba will find a way to make the old one work. Then I'll make him return the darn thing. Now in my defense I didn't buy the most expensive one - I went middle of the road, read a few on line reviews and figured this was a pretty good buy. Plus my mother in law is due in Sunday and the carpets need "de-puppied" (dirt, hair, general dog-ness) It's my back up plan.
I've paid the bills, now I need to make a menu, a shopping list and do coupons. Cripes I sound almost organized. I mean really. I came home, clean off the dining room table, and the coffee table (I still had Christmas cards on there!!) Rearranged some knick-knack kind of things finally figured out what I wanted on my new decorative shelves in my bed room, and need to hang my pictures, which then reminded me to go look for the coupons, which I have done and printed. I even cleaned out the fridge and put out the trash! OMG even.
Then I opened my bottle of $4.95 wine from Trader Joe's and enjoyed a glass with DVR'ed shows from last night - and mellowed out. I also put 2 more bottles in the fridge for Sunday - you can't beat the price and it's good!! And no - it doesn't have a screw top! A real live cork. That is why you shop in VA. Beer and wine in the grocery stores, Target... oh yeah babe.
All right - Aunt Ing the wonder woman (as in I wonder what idiocy we'll do today) is off to complete her menu, find a recipe and make a shopping list with coupons. Oh yeah and make a cup of something caffeinated. It's my thing. Enjoy this glorious Saturday and we'll chat later... who knows what fun Bubba is going to bring to the party.

NOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo
There is a MAJOR panic in Aunt Ing's world - big brother corporate IT has cut me off from my sports radio! It's RADIO!!! I haven't wasted days and hours and god-knows on college basketball - and WHY would you wait for the final FOUR to cut off sports related web-sites.... ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?
I need... I ... is it getting dark in here? - I need air - I need Stan and Guy - I need my fix - the playoffs are 12 days away - I need Angry Gino and Sid the kid and (in and out - I've got a bag around here somewhere) NOOOOOOOOOOO What's happening with Ben? Did that wide receiver hire a good lawyer - no charges - what the analysis - what is going on?!?!?!?!????
Coupled with Bubba is coming home - his mother is coming Sunday and I am not ready... help me!!!
I'm dying.........................
Ahem. (straighting my clothes, opening my office door, clean up the Kleenex and repairing my makeup)
I'm fine - I'm fine! I just want hit something and hit it hard - I want to hit it until it feels as bad as I do...
Ok apparently I'm fixated on that movie lately - besides if I'm Wheezer I'm butt of that joke. And (in and out) I'm better - I'm fine. Really. I can still read the Pittsburgh newspaper on line - but it's not my radio........ and they just changed to 4 hours of the good guys and and and... I'm doing it again... I'm Ok really.
Really.
There are 3 people in the office today so thankfully very few were witness to this display of foolishness but it isn't fair - I'm working - when I'm not talking to you all - I am working it's noise in the background and it's blocking out most of the foolishness going on around me. Oh well. I will figure out a way around that too... stupid IT.
Rant for today is over - Stay tuned for more such fascinating insights in the world of Aunt Ing, like grocery shopping, cleaning her house and cooking Easter dinner - oh yeah and the arrival of Bubba - won't that be fun? ;-)
Have a great weekend in case I can't sneak away for a little therapy...

UPDATE!
Bubba just called - it's 8:30 AM West Coast time - he's HAPPY! He's coming home unburdened, happy and paid off...
He's lost his job! He's happy I'm happy - he's promised to shower me with flowers and dinner out and attend to all my general unhappiness and make me happy because I've been home alone so much... and he really does appreciate all that I had to do while he traveled...
So dinner out Friday - shopping with him on Saturday for dinner Sunday a promise to help out getting ready for the in-law invasion - yes please get the Honey baked Ham menu sounds fine - we'll talk about gift and such when he gets home....
Do you hear the birds singing as they weave flowers in my hair?
APRIL FOOL... He still has a job as of this writing - the tip off should have been the "making me happy part" ;-)

And that mood is gone...
Apparently that full blown Wheezer mood is over - or perhaps I'm too tired to care much. I was up WAY too early this AM - work called and apparently my eyes were only half open - I am pretty sure I fed the dogs - and let me them out (without any door issues - yeah I did)
Of course the morning didn't go all smooth, as I stepped out of my car into the bright lights of the parking garage, I realized my brain wasn't completely engaged... I have on black pants and BROWN shoes. Whoops. So I won't be moving about much less some helpful "friend" at work point out to me my fashion faux pas. (That's Fo Paw -or you're a dork in French) Lesson learned for Aunt Ing - if you have to get up before the birds lay out your clothes AND your shoes in an obvious location so you don't have to engage the brain to get out the door. After all I do it for the computer and purse - now I have to do it for the shoes... good thing the car knows the way to work.
Speaking of my car... told this tale to Mom and I have to share. I came back from the morning appointment yesterday and just as I was opening my car door - here came swooping down this cardinal (the bird people its the priest's busy season) - probably the same crazy bird I saw in the middle of the blizzards this past February... any who... this bird comes flying at my door and just as I open it he backs up and heads back to his tree. Then I remember it's the crazy bird who pecks at my side mirrors on my car all last summer! This nutso bird sits on the side of my truck and looks at his reflection on my side mirror and thinks it's another bird and has pecked and scratched my mirror! He did this last summer and I had to remember to pull in those side mirrors (like at the car wash) so that nutso bird doesn't break my mirror and leave little birdy presents down the side of my truck! AND if I only do one mirror the little freaky bird goes to the other one! Cripes.
I have to get my car washed anyway - ALL windows have been thoroughly licked - yes licked by Shelby the bouncy traveler. I have no explanation why this dog finds it necessary to LICK the windows when we go some where but she does - and it's not easy to see to the haze of dried doggie drool.
Today promises to be quiet - I haven't heard from Bubba in 2 days - we'll see if he calls tonight. I've got menu planned for the Royal In-law dinner Sunday and I think I will sit down and write out some talking points that don't include babies, birth and gifts. OR major I'll just buy more wine.
yeah - that's the ticket.
