I need to go back to work...

I need the rest... Whew - busy busy busy day yesterday - and I forgot to call my brother. It was a good day with a few flashes of Bubba. We were up early - had a good breakfast at The Evan's.. Bob that is... then road through some very pretty country for about 90 minutes to the festival... now of course I forgot to pay for our tickets before hand so that created a real mess plus the doubled the price! You have to pay to get in - then pay again for the wine festival. Needless to say Bubba was oh SO happy about it all...

That and after at least 3 times saying... shouldn't we get some cash... we had to get cash - at the festival - due the increased price and double payment. No comment.

We toured a lovely home on the property and are talking about a girls weekend to see the VA garden clubs decorating the rooms - just like the rose parade - they can't use anything that isn't "live"... check your December Calendar there Ma... the girls want to go.

The bummer about the wine festival was there were maybe half the usual wineries there... and the crowds were unreal! And this apparently is the new hip thing to do... all the beautiful people were there - and frankly they were 9/10's a pain in the backside. They had no interest in what they were drinking they just wanted to drink... a lot. Yeesh. So they talked through the parts I wanted to here so I could learn something -- and frankly I was getting seriously annoyed. So we tried some, we bought some - we ate a bit and headed to our neighbors friends - who I hope we can count as friends as well to play board games and eat a really interesting dinner.

Now when I say interesting that is in a good way... we started with homemade pumpkin soup - it was like spicy pie? Because I was very confused - and so was my tongue - as she had peppery spices and nutmeg and cinnamon in there... but it was indeed tasty. Salad was very nice, then chicken breasts with apples and breadcrumbs and spices stuffed into it, very tasty. The dessert - the best one was her chocolate eclair dessert - very nice. Bubba didn't' like either dessert - oh well. Honestly I don't think he was overly thrilled with the entire dinner - he isn't thrilled with fruit in his hot food, I don't think he liked the pumpkin soup and the only thing he complimented was the gravy. LOL And I'm not the adventurous eater - that was a good meal done well - I wish I could cook like that - Bubba would hate it.

We got home very late - the girls were of course asleep on the couch, I loved, Bubba grumped... we went to bed.

All in all a good day... need to have more of those - just maybe not quiet so long...

This morning we woke, Bubba to a shower me to the Ladies group stuff, cut checks, made my scrap book pages - they aren't great but then again I am not the creative type and with the limited time, resources and frankly patience for this sort of thing - don't complain. It's done and be glad.

So I'm off to shower make some wardrobe decisions, then head to the Ladies Luncheon - alone. Bubba is off to watch football... alone as his buddy is stuck on the West Coast and didn't make it home... cry me a river. If there is any luck this luncheon won't go on forever... which means I'll be home in time to make his highness dinner. Kill me.

If maybe just maybe somebody up there likes me... which I'm beginning to doubt regularly (that he likes me) I'll have time to do a grocery store run and have dinners for next week... which is shaping up to be a real doozy. Stay tuned.
