And how did your MONDAY start?

Mine? Oh the usual, up unhappy as it was morning and a Monday at that - but we were moving, pups, shower, dress and then something funny happened... I started hearing the garage door opening and closing and opening and closing - and things being moved about - Shelby and Violet ever vigilant to my personal safety were sound asleep. I went downstairs thinking Bubba had forgotten his lunch, but no - it was more much much more. Bubba couldn't find his wallet - now let me pause to say had I said that - Bubba would have exploded, been a major wall around which I would have had to keep searching, desperately trying to think why the darn thing wasn't isn't my purse... bla bla bla. My reaction? Where did you have it last, I remember you having it here, are you sure it isn't' upstairs, did you look here... of course after being snipped at I went finished dressing, did hair makeup and then spent another hour helping Sr. Butthead look for his wallet only to have him find the darn thing in his SHOE right next to the place he usually leaves it before going to bed... seriously.

When I mentioned that he didn't check around his usual spot more carefully he said - it was a black shoe and a black wallet. At that point I put the pups in the crates, and went to work - an hour late. Thanks hon! The rest of the work day was generally uneventful.

Came home, quick run to grocery store as I was tasked with refreshments for the ladies group meeting. Then dealt with dinner, for me, left some for Bubba and went to my Ladies Group meeting. I must brag here - I did my entire part, the one where I walk and talk and march folks around the room... without a single prompt! Meaning I had all my memorized work memorized and it was all good.... but it was a late night. So got home, decompressed, went to bed tossed and turned for oh - a whole 30-45 seconds and the next thing I know the bladder and the alarm are in agreement that I needed to get out of bed.

I had to be at a meeting this morning by 9 AM in Virginia, left the house at 7:30 in the morning. I had to go 30 miles. Now those of you not familiar with Washington DC and it's morning "rush" hour let me 'splain m-kay? Yes I budgeted 90 minutes to go 30 miles - now toss in rain drops in random locations people freaking out and deciding that crashing into another car to would just make their day complete -- and completely FUBAR the rest of the world. Any one want to hazard a guess what time my cranky fanny got to my 9 AM meeting???? It wasn't 9 AM - oh no... 9:20 AM that's right darn near two freaking hours crawling at .2 miles per hour while wondering if the guy next to me has ever heard of comb or was this some hip new look he was going for... not to mention watching the rust spot on trunk of the car in front of me grow larger, I contemplated my place in the world, my sanity and what I would have given at that moment for a caffeinated beverage.

But on the sunny side - I made it just in time for my government person's presentation, so it's all good. Or I'm framing it that way.

in a final note on this Tuesday - talked to payroll today - my new rate isn't in their computer system I have to call HR. I called HR (who sounded about 12 BTW) and Helpful Hannah from HR smugly said to me... "I can't help you - you have to call your manager." When I was done chewing on the phone cord I found my manager told him crankily - fix this. He's working it. We shall see... oh and did I mention we've got a corporate employee survey coming next month......BWAAA HA HA HA Suckers

Later
