Zip went the weekend...

And with Major Cranky pants along we all know what a great time was had by all...

Let's start with Thursday night - where in 90 degree heat and LOADS to bumper to bumper traffic my beloved family truckster decided to get hot - seriously hot - that was without the darn AC running. Did I mention I was in a dress - with hose? So I pull over call Bubba and wait. Of course he's all helpful and concerned... Not he grumped at me said I needed to take the truck in and why haven't I done this already... (bla bla bla)... Now let me wander off a tangent here if I had taken my truck in it would be a MAJOR problem with his schedule, the money you freaking name it. Every time I do something with this car its fight and a real pita - and since my heating car engine wasn't all the time, Bubba said I could wait. The waiting is over.

Of course when I finally got home, I ran my errands thinking we'd take it in Friday, but then he put coolant (anti-freeze) in the car and I haven't have a problem since - even later that night. Go figure - it's going in Tuesday regardless....

Now Friday - Bubba is up early I am up later having taken the day off - I ran the few errands left, stopped by the lodge to help out - came home, did what I had to do to get ready figured I had another good hour before Bubba got home but this one time - no - he's home on time. I have a load of laundry still washing and I'm not packed yet! Go figure. But we got packed up
I finished what I needed to do, and away we went - to sit in Friday afternoon traffic where of course Major Crankypants comes blooming out in full and glorious nature - whaa whooo...

But we made it home, surprised the Parental units as we were early went out to dinner - enjoyed and came home and crashed.

Saturday Shelby decided she wanted out at 6:30 - in the freaking morning. I let her out I fed her I fell asleep on the couch Mom sent me back to bed, to which I went until Bubba nudged the bed at 9:30! I guess I was tired. So up showered dressed, and out we go to the in-laws. They are just now back in their condo after the fire, so there were boxes and stuff everywhere. My mother in law is so not in her element... we went out to lunch with the family and dinner with just the parental units. It was a nice day - ended sooner than I planned because Bubba wanted to make sure we got back to the cemetery where his grandfather is buried. His Memorial Day flag had blow away and he wanted to replace it. Hey I wasn't complaining, we have so little to talk about these folks - although Bubba and his Dad did have a private chat after lunch - I didn't dare ask what it was about. Maybe later I'll press - right now not so much.

Sunday was lazy- my niece M and my sister were down we enjoyed a lazy day just visiting and gossiping and the like. Bubba I am sure was bored out of his mind. Mama calls it visiting - you know spending time, talking not doing much... it was nice. Bubba was bored. Go visit with your family..... AND while I'm on his family - we called weeks ago said we'd be up Saturday - do they plan their picnic that day? Of course not they make is Sunday. Who does this? My in-laws apparently - and after hearing what bubba's sister had on tap - not so unhappy about missing that "feast".

Monday we were up and moving early but not OMG early apparently Bubba has realized there is an option of compromise between seriously cranky wife and a few extra hours of sleep. We left at 8:30 - ish, and had little trouble getting from point A to Point B - with one potty stop for me - and the pups. Then we got home, sucked up the stink bugs who thought it was way cool to stay inside the house, Bubba then decided to get on the roof to see where the bugs were getting into the fire place. Then he makes the pronouncement that our roof is hot. Really pumpkin? it's 100 degrees in the freaking shade today - and you're deduction is the roof is hot because it's black? He qualified that the old one was grey and not as hot - and again I was forced to ask how many times he's been on the roof when it's this freaking hot? There was a mumbled "not many". Really... ponder that statement of brilliance won't you?

I finally fed Bubba - it was that or kill him. Then I made the grocery list went shopping (alone) and he is now off getting a massage. I am enjoying the quiet - the dogs are sleeping and in a few hours I will be cleaning up from dinner, breaking out the ironing board and getting ready for another week. Which may be delayed by one day due to the family truckster.

Signing off for now - hopefully to enjoy a few minutes more of peace and quiet...

Oh remind me later - there is talk of wedding plans in Western PA - shoot me now. ;-)
