Whew what a weekend...

As I hinted Friday - it was going to be a good weekend - and boy howdy was it. Of course Bubba left at o-dark-30 to catch his flight to Vegas for the "spring" guys weekend (for those of you keeping score there is also a "Fall" guys weekend - different set of guys) Anyway as it usually works around here with Bubba up so is Aunt Ing and the pups - oh I fed their little furry fannies then crawled back into bed until a more civilized hour - like 9:30 am. That was Saturday morning, so I did the usual things, shower, breakfast, putzed - then armed with my list, my coupons and my credit cards dancing to come out of my wallet - I went SHOPPING. I was a one woman stimulus package - allow me to demonstrate:

First we went to Macy's - we had coupons, we wandered, we shopped, we bought a few things, then we went to the purse department, while I did not purchase a bag from behind the protected glass - I did get a new bag - which I now realize is smaller than the old one -- but 1) its NEW and 2) it has more hide-y holes and slots and stuff which is what I like. And it's simple and pretty. I am not your busy fussy purse kinda gal - I want function and durability. I am tough on my bags. Just ask them.

Then I made my way to JCPenny - they were having a SALE! and I had (say it with me now) coupons!!! (and gift cards) alas there was nothing in the offering in the short and chubby department, so I made my was to Yankee Candle - yes - because I had a coupon!!! Then figuring I had done - the mall I made my way to the Wal-Mart, because on coupon is expiring day - you go to the Mart and stock up on shampoo, contact lens juice and other such niceities to get you through your day. So I shopped at the Mart wondering if their profits were down at the end of the month (people out of money they say) then who the heck were ALL these people???

Survived the mart - loaded up the family truckster with that haul, then headed to Kohl's - again COUPONS. But those were wasted as the short and fat department at that store apparently doesn't think chubby women work for a living. So screw you buddy - put down the two things I did find and headed to Dress Barn. (insert the angelic music here) A whole big section for short and chubby choices, sales, friendly people to help you once they realized you were a buyer not just a browser. An hour and $300 plus dollars later I had spring and summer sweaters, tops, skirts, a dress, and a lighter wallet - on the plus side? I GOT MORE COUPONS!!! LOL at a store I will go back to....

So dumped (gently) my haul into the truckster which was now beginning to wonder if I was testing its weight limit I'm sure ... I then headed to the grocery store. Armed with - coupons I shopped for the week - without the constant and slowing presence of Bubba I was in, around, done and happy. Home I went. My feet were starting to hurt I was desperate for a tall cold glass of water and the bask in my booty.

What I did was, let the dogs out, dump all the stuff on the living room couch put away the groceries and sit on my fanny for an hour. Well yes I did bask for a bit... then I cleaned up the kitchen fixed myself a meal and pretty much laid like broccoli for the rest of the night.

Then came Sunday.........
Oh sure - Shelby gave thought to waking me up at o-dark-30 she was disabused of this notion with the go lay down command given with my hand on her nose. I was then hours later greeted with the cold wet nose of "now lady or the carpet gets it". So up we were at a more civilized hour the pups and I were up, fed, showered and dressed, then... we faced it - the bedroom closet I was not kind I was not merciful - I was harsh brutal and a bit messy. I admitted there were sizes I was not going to see in the next six months nor the next year - into the donation pile. This size is close - but not so much - donation pile - there were also moments of Hey! this fits - keep pile- which also turned into the wash and iron pile... I got down to an empty bar, cleaned out shoes (only managed to toss 2 pairs) the top shelf - and noticed most of that crap was BUBBA'S - it got tossed to his side. Then we hauled up the new stuff, hung arranged, moved the laundry pile into the hallways so we had some operating room, cleaned out my drawers! then sat down to document my clothing donation, bag it up - called my sister about a suit I loved and wore all of once, get that moved to an out of the way location, hung clothes, then began.... the laundry!.... but remember boys and girls our hero now has HAL Jr. - the washer of larger loads without the notice-able "leak". So we washed, we dried, we hung up sweaters and shirts and we ironed - good heavens did we iron, pants, shirts, dressed and with a mark on my hand - my own skin. (little owie - we're ok).

I finally petered out when I got down to the last 4 pairs of pants, and the last load of laundry - whites - which is still sitting in the dryer. But my closet is work of art - it's neat it's clean - its full of clothes that 1) fit and 2) are clean and pressed and 3) a lot new!!! So while I worked hard all weekend - it was a good work - alone at my own pace without a Bubba to gum up the works wanting something like fed or tended or whatever. I also screwed with the pups as they didn't get this whole - why aren't you going downstairs thing for the better part of Sunday morning. They eventually figured out to just go with it and sleep, until the donation pile slipped and landed on Violet - she wasn't pleased. A little love, a little shifting and 1 minute later - she was sleeping. It's a tough life that dog has got no?

Monday - was up to freaking early again, had a doctor appointment for no reason - see the other doc you have an appointment with Wednesday here is your co-pay back have a nice day. I chose to take the road of BONUS! Home early - tended to some work stuff for my company, check email, print, deal with the ladies' group stuff - and then head out to the girls' meeting. Which I will simply dub - organized chaos while trying to herd cats that found the cat nip barrel - we're just blocking the rest OK? I went home and stood in my closet for 15 minutes and took another 5 to debate wardrobe choices for my Tuesday. WHICH apparently was the right move as when I got home, Bubba was home and asked if that was a new outfit - he looked and me and said (Quoting here) "Looks nice - pretty." When I picked myself up off the floor checked his ID, we chatted about our days, his weekend, mine (another compliment on the closet!). He also took all four bags to the donation center! I know! But of course I still had to cook dinner - and he's been out since 8:15 tonight - all in all - not a bad Tuesday.

So be prepared Wednesday could hit the fan or just be a day full of meetings. As there are 2 scheduled for 2 hours each - we're leaning toward the meetings -- with my pea sized bladder could make for some fun moments. Stay tuned won't you?

Later!
