Vacation - the good parts....

You knew I'd get to them sooner or later... The spa - super fab, car decision - good, will miss family truckster... dinner - OMG good.   Hotel very nice, room also nice, tucked in, a little read, enjoy a television program and then again face down into bed.... which brings us to Tuesday - sans alarm clock.

Up, shower, dress, found breakfast (Fast food) Bubba's sucked my didn't.  We drove through some very pretty country rolling hills, green and lovely, little traffic not too stinking hot, just lovely.  We find the first winery at the top of the map and prepare to drink our way back to the hotel... which I did.  We drank, I kept drinking, Bubba was driving, we bought, I called home all drunked up - turn about was fair play Nana has done it to me too besides I got to talk to both parental units - it was all good.   We hit the outlet mall, I said I needed lunch - I really have to communicate to Bubba that a small breakfast isn't going to get me to a 7 PM dinner reservation.   So with burger in my system - I sobered up which was a bummer - we shopped a bit for Bubba and his new job (Business casual again) decided he wasn't going to spent 60 bucks a shirt to have an alligator or pony on the shirt... away we went.  I wanted to shop at the kitchen store - we did but he sucks all the fun out of that and I wanted to go swimming... which we did.  Sun, book, pool, relax, zen is mine....

Then shower, dress up, makeup, and off to a great dinner, Bubba driving, circle found restaurant, parking, walked a bit in lovely old town Leesburg, had a GREAT dinner, shrimp and grits appetizer, pork shank with a side dish described as bread pudding with sharp cheddar cheese, bacon, and something else - omg was it good, Bubba had fried green tomatoes, which I did taste - it was odd but OK ... he enjoyed his steak with really good potatoes, baked beans I think if he could have liked the little bowl they came in he would have, and a blueberry cobbler for dessert with the most incredible Wild Turkey cream sauce I have ever tasted.... I was SO full I didn't want breakfast this morning.... OMG was it good.

This morning I was up, showered, dressed and ready and waiting on Bubba, we discussed the breakfast buffet at the hotel - no.  We were both too full still from yesterday's feast of the overindulgence so pack up check out and home we headed.   Nice trip across the Potomac via the Historic White's Ferry, an easy drive home, first we pick up his car, stop off and have breakfast begal, home, unload the car, double check things, love the pups, Bubba dressed to go to work checks new office address, then to the car dealership where I give up my beloved beige bomber and slip into the new sleek All wheel drive Kia Serrento - made in the USA of parts made in various locations - including the USA.  Paper work was dealt with, without too much muss and fuss - and BONUS!  I didn't have to go to the MVA - I got new tags!!!  And the cool ones with the flags on them - I really wanted those tags...happy happy.... with a ting of sadness that my family truckster was no longer in the drive way...

I came home, let the bug guy in, they hung something in our chimney to get rid of stink bugs, and another in the attic, called the bank to make sure they knew we got a new car and not to hang up the check we wrote - and called the insurance company, off came the beige bomber, and on went the new car.... up charge?  $4.27 per six months - not bad.

So boys and girls you are up to date, tomorrow back to work for two whole days, in 100 degree heat then to this weekend that if the angels are kind to me - will be quiet - peaceful and sans going anywhere and seeing few people..... please god.

I must also say Bubba is determined to share our restaurant finds with family and friends it's only 45-60 minutes from home and it's got that nice bridge crossing via the ferry.... I can't wait.

Off to chill out with my pups....
