Ah - Mondays...

Good weekend; hazy, hot and humid. I love summer.

Had a great Friday night with old friends, good meal and good conversation. Tried a new recipe which turned out pretty good. Hubby said I've made better dips but I liked it. We'll hang on to that one just in case.

Facing another week without much due; but I do have some projects that require my attention so I will get those done and hopefully not die of boredom at my desk. I doubt anything interesting will come from our weekly staff meeting. Are staff meetings generally good for anything? Depends on the people and the project.

Am I wrong to worry about a kid, whom I have no control? He's 4 and he's on drugs to "calm" him down... I must hold my tongue knowing that all this kid needs is a steady home, a strong hand and a lot of loving. for someone who is such a reproductive failure to see people have such a gift and muck it up so badly just makes me crazy. Not my kid.. not my family.

Speaking of family, my brother had to bury his beloved Dog Shady this weekend. She was laid to rest at her favorite place where sticks were plentiful and the water always ran cool. Her hips are new and young again and there is a little kid taken away too soon there to play with her throw stick after ball after stick in the warm glowing sunshine. RIP Shady you were a great dog.

I want to go home for my niece's birthday party and I don't as it will be a zoo and not a lot of fun. Hubby probably won't want to travel. I better get shopping and get a gift up there so I'm not in trouble again sent her sister's present late. She's 2 so I doubt she'll remember her aunt sent it late. Now when she's 12 I'd better have my act together.

Let's get the day started! Oh and the Steelers report to training camp on Friday!! Yeah Football.
