I have come to love Wednesdays... I work from home on Wednesdays. Commute is fab, dress code is grand, the puppies aren't caged but happily sleeping in my office then following me when I go from computer to kitchen for coffee then to computer to bathroom... and then more sleeping.
Except for this Wednesday, after a scheduled doctor appointment I had to rush to my car dial into the "all hands" meeting stating that more cut backs are coming and of course it's on my project so I've got about a month to find a new job. I hate interviewing... I digress. So the boss deemed that my 'bright and shining' face be here on site this Wednesday we spoke for 5 minutes when I got in then... he's had his door shut to deal with upper management and how many of his people will suddenly looking for work. And I drove in why? I've got a home phone, a company provided blackberry and a personal cell phone, my laptop can virtual network into our stuff without a problem (as I do it EVERY OTHER Wednesday) so why am I here?
I took small dark delight in the doc having a bumble today. He walks in, starts to look at my ears then remembers he has to take my blood pressure. His nurse thinks I'm dead as she can never find it... and yet there I sat. Blood pressure is fine Mom... all is well. Goes to look in my ears, trying to cover the "ear light" which he already covered... checks everything all is well... but... the Nagging Pain In the A$$ cough is still there he wants a chest x-ray and codeine... fun but I ask is it possible this a reaction to the drug you gave me 60 days ago? He flips over my chart and says why yes that could be it... had I read this I would have thought of that too... he said "I'm going to step out and try this appointment again!" LOL
So happy story a months worth of samples of new drug, no need to deal with 'script and easy to follow instructions and its off to work... at work... instead of home.
So my plan for the day? Update the resume, search the inter-company want ads call a few people I know and try and line up work for August with any luck it will be something interesting and closer to home! that is all for today... maybe.
