There is all kind of giddy excitement in the household today - two new toys have made their way here!! First was our new zippy do-dah Internet. Of course the installation wasn't exactly zippy or do-dah the poor guy had all kinds of issues installing routers and the like, apparently there is one in my attic. So basically he had to gerry-rig a garage to attic to office signal. I don't care it works and works well. Today. We'll see about tomorrow ;-)
Mr. Internet installer arrived at 9:30 well within the 8-12 window time frame he gave himself. I felt bad about the issues he had but hey - I didn't build the house.
So after he left, I was back on line for the rush of emails work was generating...all 3 of them. And one was a reminder to change my password. I got to play, and enjoy and putz the afternoon away. Then I started watching for the guys who had my new washing machine!!!!
I went to get a glass of water - and saw the Sears truck go blowing by the house. Coincidence? Thought not, put on shoes and went out to check mail, get paper and didn't they didn't just pull up. I sent them around the back, easier in and out to the laundry room. It took zippy delivery driver number 1 about 2 minutes to disconnect the old hoses, the number two brought the new washer (now dubbed Hal Jr.) around the back yard, they moved the old gal, got her outside, I gathered cleaning supplies and cleaned up the gross orange/ yellow ick crusted mess under the old washer by the time I was done with that - they were ready to install the new one. Which also took all of two minutes, he turned it on, balanced it, and pronounced it ready to go.
I have to read the manual before attempting to wash anything in there. I do have a healthy fear of shredded underpants. But I have to convince the hubster - this was a good thing. We are down to one appliance from the original set we moved in here with. The stove. But - you have to use something regularly in order to get it to break. I'm going to have that one forever.
All righty - Aunt Ing is going to go off and do dinner (using the stove - and the oven!) and figure out what all those buttons on the front of the machine are for. And do a load of laundry.
Did the blog read faster on the new Internet? Just wondering... oh hey Pap. (nah, nah nah)
sorry had to do it once.
