We have checked and we are Bubba free therefore we are able to document the delightful dinner and conversation shared between Parents-in-law and the family gossip brought to us... ah so nice.
Needless to say Bubba cannot hear me say any of this so we're good with our pledge stating (No Bubba you will not hear me speak of your family again.) :-) I'm a good doobie that way aren't I? Yeah yeah, ticket punched, straight to hell yeah yeah - mama said she'd save me a seat!
ANY way... the topic of the evening seemed to be Bubba's sister T and her little quirks of her day to day life not the mention the heaps of abuse she is inflicting upon her husband. And after these stories, frankly boys and girls the man is up for SAINTHOOD in my book - what chemical was the Navy using back in the day to make these two so nutty... well there is that whole nature/nurture thing wandering too far... back to the dish.
Now sis-in-law T is a nurse, she works nights and apparently they are short handed so there are nights she works ALL night. Her husband who will now call Saint R works days - early days he's up at 4:30 and he works outside laying cables etc... in other words the man isn't sitting on his backside watching the world go by he's working for that check. You are not going to tell me a nurse working the overnight shift has a LOT to do - I mean most people are sleeping right? As long as alarm bells aren't ringing you don't have to be running minute to minute - but then again what do I know I'm sleeping and that whole nursing things involves icky body things and fluids and sick people which eewwwww and so NOT in my wheel house.
Anyway, she demands (note the choice of words not by me) that her sainted husband, cook dinners for her and her daughter who likewise works long hours at MIDNIGHT so they have something to eat when they get home... he does laundry, he grocery shops, without a list or plan he just goes, and still she complains at him when he goes and eats dinner with HER family because he's home alone.... so he doesn't do that much anymore.
Its gets better boys and girls - this poor man gets paid on Friday and is broke on Monday - he pays all the household bills with his check... she pays the mortgage. They have separate accounts, he has no clue what she has, SHE makes her daughter print out his check and calculates his overtime to make sure she accounts for ALL HIS money - while not sharing the same information of her paychecks with her husband.
Can you begin to imagine treating your husband like this? Oh sure it's one thing if he's got a history of gambling or drinking his paycheck away and you've had issues but Sister T has only been working for the last few years full time - before that she was a stay at home Mom, part time bus driver and she never lacked for anything that I noticed. Of course they probably didn't have as much money and Bubba and I do but then again I have more money that God - that is the only reason these people are nice to us. (See previous post for full context of that one...still searching for that sarcasm font!)
Sooo---- one begins to wonder how long he's going to put up with this mess not the mention the fact that according to Mum and Dad 'd Bubba she's always tired, and she can't do anything and she's got a cleaning lady coming in once a week - of course my mother-in-law said she understood why WE have one - of course mine comes every other week, but I didn't say anything she was on a roll.... Of course my mother in-law also said she tried her daughter's cleaning lady to giver her some help cleaning her 2 bedroom, one floor condo - you know to get the baseboards and things that are hard on her knees... she didn't ask her back.. too young didn't do a good job.
I want it noted here and now the strength of character that led to my smiling and nodding and not saying a word about no cleaning woman on this earth will clean good enough for that neat freak ... I smiled and nodded and nodded and smiled. A cleaning woman for a woman who says repeatedly they go nowhere and don't do much.... what DO you do? Another ponder for another day...
Now on to the next fun topic of Sister T, apparently they are going out to dinner with parents... it's all good, until the bill arrives and Sister T goes outside to smoke... and of course her husband has no money on him because his wife ensures that he doesn't so the in-laws pick up the check... all the time. The fact that my mother-in-law mentioned it... and laughed so we could laugh too... is that she's noticed this... a BIG deal as this woman is clueless on a cellular level and makes comments on it allows me to enjoy it all the more...
Of course when we went out and the bill was coming I looked at my mother-in-law winked and nudged Bubba and said "quick go outside and smoke before the bill comes" Mum and I laughed the sticks in the mud named Bubba and Bubba Jr sat like the lumps they are... whatever.
As previously stated Bubba won't hear any of this repeated by me - I think Lancaster should be far enough away.. we'll see. Problem is when we are home I don't get to see any of this first handed, because it appears to me everyone is on their best behavior when we're home... its not hard we aren't there that often. ;-)
Well that is most of news that is fit to print - enjoy the double post I'm off to turn off the lights and tell the little darlings we're out of candy... mostly. :-o
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
