Good Grief Charlie Brown...

A whole week plus and I haven't posted - shame on me... and my lack of time to think and type at the same time.  This past week at work as been BUSY!  and that boys and girls is good and bad, good as it makes the days go by quicker and bad because I don't have time to document the Bubba sightings and other foolishments.

It rained last weekend and the entire week before hand  and I did begin to believe that my car should come equipped with boat like features and that the animals lining up in the neighborhood might have a better clue than me... but then God must have looked in the bottom of the ark and said fuggetaboutit... (because as we all know God sounds like Tony Soprano)   So as the song goes, out came the sun and dried up all (most of) the rain and we all went back to believing that the end of the world wasn't near.... take it down to defcon 2 people relax... and breathe.. and ahhhh

Bubba as well has been working a lot - which means the pups have suffered although I do believe this past weekend has made up for a bit of that. We'll get to all that in a minute.  While the work stuff has been busy my pup Violet has also added to the mix, she was due for regular boat payment to the vet so in we went, all was good, except - yes her teeth... and the new lump on the side of her head.  The Vet and I figured it was similar to the lumps she's got every where else.. old age.  But he took a quick sample and found.. not good stuff.  We don't think the big C but bacterial in nature he wants it to come off - OK fine, lump, teeth done in one final BIG boat payment.  We schedule the surgery I plan my week and away we go... only not so fast pumpkin.... Vet calls Violet is anemic (like her mama) low red cell count, he goes on to tell me a number of possible issues and could "we" bring her back in for blood and all other bodily secretions while we're at it... oh goodie.  I get to leave work early again, follow the dog outside, catch her pee, watch her until she poops and take that good stuff in my new car to the vet.   They take the blood - I have already scrubbed to my elbows with disinfectant soap and very hot water... not to mention the double plastic bags on the floor of my new car to transport all this... exactly 2 minutes at the vet and $300 later we're heading home...

Comes back Friday it's not the blood parasite he thought it was, she's got something going on in the pee department, stay on the antibiotics and we'll do another expensive blood test next week and see where we are... sure doc - must have been one heck of an upgrade at the country club.  But he did call me personally on his day off to tell me about my Violet so... can't complain too much.  Plus I have recommended two friends to this vet and they are happy!  So there (Bubba)  who every time I take the girls in he complains about the cost.  Bla bla bla

So in the puppy department right now there is twice daily peanut butter feedings depending upon the time and the dog there may or not be a hidden pill inside.  thankfully these two do not care they just eat the peanut butter and move on.

We will note Thursday as a banner day, Aunt Ing stayed later to make up the hours for two early afternoons only to outsmart herself with her "short cut" that resulted in a 2 hour commute home... yes boys and girls you read that right - a two hour tour.  I saw my usual and secondary routes were LOADED up so I figured as it has worked before - take the two lane back road and see.... CARS lots and lots of slow moving no where to go cars.  By the time I got to the beltway things were moving.  Ticked off doesn't even begin to describe the emotions bouncing about the family truckster.   I called Bubba who works 15 minutes from home, he's "stuck" so I break down call the neighbors who not only release my hounds but feeds them as well... shall we stop again and say how grateful I am for such good neighbors.... plus I paid back Sunday when their pup came over for an all day visit.  Really have to teach that dog football rules... she wanted in and all at all manners of the wrong time.

Bubba worked in the morning so ahhh peace, came home (after calling to tell me to tape the game AND make him lunch) - he got warmed over pizza, then left early to get a massage.  Sure pumpkin I'll be home - happy for the peace and quiet and doing your laundry, making sure things are tended, making dinner and cleaning the kitchen... oh and did I mention I baked a cake on Saturday?  Lemon with Blueberry filling and blackberries to go with???  Pampered thy name is Bubba...

However - Saturday - AH Saturday was a good day, Bubba went to work, I went shopping - it was happiness all around.  I got my nails done, toes and fingers, had the eyebrows trimmed back to a non-bushy state and was generally happy and pampered.  Then I went next door to the retail clothing store, messed up one manicured thumb nail and bought 2 new dresses for winter and some other pieces to go with stuff I have.  OF COURSE when I got home Bubba and I had to discuss my spending habits and the ability to retire before we're dead and I just smiled and said, the last time I bought clothes was in MAY with new job - those were summer clothes, we need winter clothes.  He again mentioned me "growing" out of my clothes - Oh no no no - if you recall the spring purge of the closet EVERYTHING in that closet fits.  Granted there are a few pairs of blue jeans that are  bit tighter than the rest - but everything in there FITS.  Grumble Grumble he went back to mowing the lawn and that was pretty much it for the money discussion.  We went out Saturday night for dinner - enjoyed it.  Came home and were veggies for the remainder of the evening.

As previously mentioned Bubba went to work, I stayed home so Sunday was a good day.  I made a new recipe a chicken and wild rice casserole - he liked it I added mushrooms for him... it's all good.  This week I start commuting in with a co-worker who likes to leave for work at 6:00 AM in the morning even.  Cripes, however there is a method to my madness that getting home early means I can start exercising and doing things in the afternoon without having to make up hours, making a production and generally having a life.  Now Bubba and I will be ships that pass in the night - but we'll see how we do with this.  It also gives me time to work on a project I've been doing with fits and starts for a bit now so we'll see if I can keep my eyes open long enough for all this self improvement.

Me up at 4:30 in the AM -- this ain't going to be pretty boys and girls - but after say the first month or so I might get my body adjusted to waking before god and country and most barnyard animals.  Maybe.

This week starts happily with a Federal Government Holiday - so little traffic fewer people and general good things and getting your desk clear for another week of heaven knows what.

Well I know part of it might be dealing with co-worker I had a chat with our big customer and he's not sure this guy is working as smartly as he should as things take so long to get done with this guy.  He doesnt' work for me - so with a quick note I copied the chat and sent it to his boss... read it again this morning making sure that I didn't say anything against the guy - because he has put in some long hours... however what takes other people 15 minutes to do takes him HOURS... so I really get where the customer is coming from.. the tester thinks I'm a paper pusher and not terribly technical... little does he know - but in this job I'm not the tech geek but I can speak the language pumpkin.

OK so day 1 of early morning gets the phone call from Bubba that "my" dog had to voice her displeasure of my leaving all over the family room... Bubba had to clean up poop.  Whoops - and I get to come home and wash blankets - yeah.  Its a glam life I lead isn't it?

News from the in-law side of the house - Bubba's sister T is apparently perplexing her parental units with her financial habits.. she's hording her cash while making her hubby pay all the bills.  Bubba knows better and I have NO idea why T's husband puts up with this bit of foolishness... but hey according to my hubby I spend our money like ts illegal to have it... right.  ANY way we chatted a bit about that, I remembered what Bubba Sr. said about not living with his kids (still dont' have this in writing) and there were jokes made by Bubba about his Grandmother, his mother and other rehashed gossip.  He talks about them when he wants and clams up most of the time - probably knowing I pass along the best nuggets.  I'm a girl Bubba we talk or explode... deal. Not to mention Italian - we're in every one's business we consider family... or maybe I just like gossip.  ;-)

All right you're all caught up - I don't know what the rest of the week will bring but I will do my best to keep everyone up to date... or you may just see a lot of ZZZZZZZZZZZzz across the keyboard with this new schedule.  Does Starbucks make an IV drip?  Just wondering.
