ahh the weekend's little projects

I got the book case together - almost completely done - sat it up and realized I had put the top board on incorrectly.  There were a number of football words used in that small room, and I quit for the day - because had I tackled trying to fix my  bone head move I would have done some serious damage to my bookshelf and then REALLY been ticked.   So we backed away from the project and enjoyed a peaceful night sans Bubba - he was out with the boys on his bachelor party - enjoy yeah I'll come get your drunken backside at the train station.

Of course the original plan was for 12 midnight "around there" -- apparently I left too much open for "around there" meant 1:37 in the blessed AM.  The dogs were ready to go at 10, 11, 12 and 1 AM - to bed, and I was reminded almost hourly that it was time for us to be tucked in and why were we still up?  They never really got it.

He wasn't as 'happy' as I expected him to be - less so when he saw the second bookshelf in my car - and - as he put it - another excuse to fill up crap.   No - butthead it's pulling all the stacks of books from my various hide y-holes and put them in one place.  It's logical, organized and neat.  To him it's more crap.   I simply do not get the mind set of where an empty shelf is considered neat - it's just sad.  No I don't need every service covered in a ton of stuff but I think if you have a book shelf with 4 shelves and 2 are empty that's kind of sad (his mother's house had this issue)   Bubba said it look "not like your mess - it's fine"   No it's not. And for the record - most of my shelves are not a mess - we just won't look in the office too closely.  :-)

ANY way - Sunday of course we slept in as we are getting old and don't do these hours anymore - dogs included.  Up, showered, we went to breakfast which considering the time of day most people would call it lunch, made a quick trip to the grocery store as we were hosting the game portion of the picnic/ game night with both sets of the neighbors.   Then we came home, and cleaned up a bit, I got the munchies put together and washed the covers of my couch.  I am embarrassed to admit how much better they look now - I thought most of that was fading of the material - nope it was doggies rubbing their faces and ears up and down the couch that made it so dirty... ick.   But now they are clean... but that realization - double ewww on me.

We also made a discovery last night - I sent Bubba to the liquor store to get some Lemoncello it's an Italian liquor with a great lemon taste and a kick-your-booty alcohol content - well our local place was OUT!  So they steered us to Orange-cello we figured what the heck and bought it tossed it the freezer and it was sampled by all... more than once - we all slept well.   As my one neighbor put it this morning - it went down nice, cool and smooth then sprang back up and knocked you in the head.  LOL  We were all pretty happy.

This morning has been busy day well it started with Bubba the butthead and his work computer when I asked about him taking the day off - apparently with a bit too much 'tone' he went oober cranky to which I proceeded to ignore him, eat my breakfast and go on about my business. I would have apologized for forgetting he did indeed say he had some work stuff to do today - but be a butthead get treated like one.

So I weeded the front yard, chatted up the neighbors who were out doing the same thing, Bubba came out and did the mulch which to me is the reward for doing the weeding because it looks so nice when you're done - but hey I didn't have to lift those bags - so who am I to complain?

Problem is he used most of it on the front part of the house and didn't leave enough for under the dogwood tree - so he's off getting more, along with the groceries and gas for the lawn mower.  We figure what - 4-5 hours he's gone.  I'm just saying.

I have tended to a few issues, blogged, gathered up the laundry and will putz about until he gets home, then we will finish the mulching, I will shower away the dirt and 1000% humidity that we are enjoying for our holiday and move on to finish laundry, ironing dinner prep, cook and clean up and then fall face first into bed only to have to away WAY to freaking early for a work day after your holiday.  Who plans this crap?

Off to tend to other issues, and watch dogs sleep in A/C.   It's a life isn't it?

Oh - I do have to say Bubba did help me yesterday morning fix my bonehead move with the bookcase so it's done, up and ready to be loaded up.  Getting to that too.
