Points to ponder....

And other family dramas... Talked to Nana last night on my way home; well it started with a question "Please tell me how it is MY fault when I ask my husband to repeat himself over the phone - again and again and again - and yet it is a failure of my hearing and not of his mumbling into the wrong end of the flipping phone."

We pondered that question - agreed that we both have a hearing problem as we have to ask Mr. Mumbler to repeat and repeat and yet all that virtual head slapping has only reinforced his thinking that EVERYONE he talks to has a hearing problem and it's not the delivery.... I know.

I have that cool blue tooth thing in my new family truckster and Bubba called me to coordinate for our birthday dinner with our neighbor... when he had to re-state and re-state whatever he was trying to tell me... and yet - he gets cranky when I asked to clarify his statements; when I incorrectly repeat what I THOUGHT he mumbled at me... and still he doesn't see that its the source not the receptacle.  Go figure.

Since there was no solution to that bit of circled logic we moved on to other things, like my in-laws - and the wedding.  Apparently both my sister and my mother think I am mental for going.  I do too if that helps but in my misguided thinking of 'la familia' I should be there.  Even though Nana put the niggle in my head that "apparently they don't want you there since they won't change the date for her uncle."   Good point.   At what point do I stop trying to ensure that my husband has a relationship with his family?  I mean frankly if I didn't ask every couple of weeks the last time he's talked to his Mama, he'd never call home.  And when I get busy and don't ask - we get messages like this "Hey Bubba - it's your Mom just calling to make sure you all are still alive haven't heard from you all in a while."

Not kidding.  Well let's document this mess shall we?  We don't get called for weeks (yes plural) after children are born, we aren't told until it's beyond obvious she's knocked up again and again.  And now this left handed slap - exactly why am I bothering?  I'm going to have to think about this...

However looking at the glass half full side of the house - I look like the bigger person for showing up, I don't have to stay long as my pups will need attention, I can dress better than most anyone that will be there (meow) - I WILL wear my good jewelry (meow meow) and that is all I can come up with... so it's showing up and flashing (bling) and going home early.  I need drugs - yeesh.

I'll chew on this more - until it has no flavor and then stick in my hair.  (Ya-Ya sisterhood movie reference there)

Moving on... it's hot here - and according to the weather service it's hot darn near everywhere - but the breathless reporting on the morning TV is amazing.  Do you really need to tell an adult with a functioning brain cell not to exercise in 100 degree heat with 1000% humidity?  Apparently as the next story was the ER doc detailing the number of morons who couldn't figure that bit of idiotic information out and landed in said ER.  Duh.  It's called treadmill or a day off - try it.  Also the suggestion that when you are outside you should stay in the shade and drink water... who needs this advice?  My personal fav is checking in on old people and  younger children - one don't these younger children have parents?  'Nuf said there.  Old people - son - they don't get old by doing stupid stuff - it just isn't how the world works.... but I did check on my own personal "old people" if they were indeed staying inside drinking water and staying cool - they were-- see? Old - years of experiences upon which to figure this stuff out...   Yes yes I do get people without A/C etc - but again  I sincerely hope that said "old person" is smart enough to get to someone or somewhere to help themselves - there are vans, and centers and all sorts of things - again you don't get to "old" without a half a brain cell.  (leaving soap box)

All right back to work - and more chewing of stupid stuff on the way home... salads for dinner because it IS to freaking hot to cook.
