Happy Valentine's Day...

Yeah - whatever.   OK, OK, OKAY!  Yes I have a "sweetie" and I'm sure there will be something along in his day to make him remember to pick up flowers for the "wife" he sees once a week - and I will be happy.   I also have dinner planned, and a card for darling Bubba - so we do that whole 'romance' thing our own way.   Like we do anniversaries - with football games - with other people.  Don't judge.  It works for us.

And after this weekend, its sounding like a better and better deal.  OH Saturday was great - both our plans got cancelled Bubba's due to teenage issues (friend's son) and mine due to weather.   So we were very mellow Saturday, went to breakfast, got DVD's and  munchies and laid like broccoli all afternoon... and with me fighting a cold - that was mighty nice.  Then Sunday came, Bubba went and had a massage apparently his therapist found his cranky button and worked it hard.  I find it amazing that anyone could enjoy a 90 minute massage and come home grumpy - yet somehow Bubba did.

Of course I was the cause of all things cranky, the usual I'm spending us into the poor house, I am a nightmare to budget for... and I went over my minutes on the cell phone last month -whoops.  First time in a year...apparently when he is not home I like to talk to people.  Fine I will use the home phone now worries there.  Of course he rambled on and on about whatever - it all turns into Charlie Brown's teacher's voice after a while.  Because as we all know - I am the gal who spends her paychecks at Sacks, and Neiman Markus and other stores like Wal-Mart and Amazon... yeah I know.

Last month the Visa bill was a bit high due to puppy medical issues - we knew this still he muttered.  The other card, had HIS birthday present on it... and he grumped until he was reminded what it was... whatever.  Maybe it was a delayed reaction of talking to his mother on Saturday and Sunday when he got rubbed it tripped some mother-induced cranky that just spilled all over me.  If that is the case then I will stop asking him if he has phoned home lately.  Yeesh.

We are half way through February... time enough to document what I've spent... let's see:
New bathroom scale,
New pedometer
New food scale
Grand Assembly payment - ouch
Zoe's birthday present
oh and a Valentine's Day card for tightwad, and a birthday card for the sis-in-law....

and of course the usual, groceries, gas and occasional lunch... whew jump back Jack I'm going through my paycheck like it was illegal to have money.   (yawn)

I really do need to befriend a shrink to figure Bubba out - heaven knows he won't go on his own - in Bubba land he's perfect - to the rest of the world - well good think his mama likes him.  ;-)  all right I do like him on occasion - his taste in TV shows is sometimes questionable - see enough Tru Blood to last me a life time - barf.  Blood guts, gore - then naked boobies and sex.  Watch that after I'm in bed - which is earlier and earlier these days...

Digressing.

Fun story after all this hearts and flowers I shower over my beloved - my dog Violet.  She doesn't want to get up in the early morning with her mama anymore.  Shelby on the other hand is scratching at the bathroom door - in a fit of - hurry up lady there is kibble at the end of this ... ah Shelby her needs are so easy.  If only her father were more like her.   Again wandering.. so I have to get Violet awake, moving and on occasion vertical.  That usually involves a hand or foot on her back end and a gentle nudge... she will get up then immediately begin to hound wound to lay back down again... in the mean time Shelby has been up and down the stairs at least 4 times with the look on her face - "Are you ready?  Is it kibble time?  Can I pee now?"

Oh sure it's all cute until Shelby starts to bark and it wakes the bear named Bubba... then not so much.   But we have a routine, and it's working even if Violet and her mama are tired and cranky first thing in the morning. There is always watching Shelby eat peanut butter to make you smile.

So 'let me sum up' (say it with an accent it works)  - Hug your sweetie, be they the tightwad you married, the furry four legged creature you share space with or the man in the mirror - you're loved no matter who or where you are.   Oh - and indulge in a piece of cake today - life is too short to save dessert for later. (or at least until after you weigh in - 1:00 PM today)
