While I was out of work - I got an award from a project I worked on - color me surprised - and as such I got a company invite to the semi-quarterly awards lunch. At this really great family style Italian restaurant.... yeah. Me at one of the temples of over-do....this couldn't happen BEFORE I have the stomach of a small child? No - of course not-- welcome to Aunt Ing's world. However, it is nice to be recognized because usually I would be overlooked and the day of or the day after I would get this serious message of how sorry they were to have forgotten me...
So, take the good and the bad, go enjoy some protein option and explain to a lot of people why I eat less than their children. No worries. The smells will be my down fall - this place smells so good when you walk in, and the food is even better....
On an up note - I enjoyed a soft taco last night - chicken, homemade, and without sour cream and lettuce as dairy still has bad memories and raw veggies are still a no-no. But meat, with spice a little taco sauce, a hint of cheese and boy howdy was it good! My one single taco.... but again I was full. And that boys and girls is the point of all this internal organ rearrangement... because before Aunt Ing would have had more than one....
My office mate has been gone all week, I may kiss the man when he gets back Monday... or break a leg so he can't go anywhere else... nah - he's too nice I'll just hug him like he did me when I got back. Yeesh what a week at work, meetings, stuff, BS, foolishness and this gem...
We got a quote for a zippy piece of software - we got a zippy quote in mid-APRIL.... I am still trying to get the freaking government to send out the PURCHASE ORDER.... and the company said end of July or your sweetheart deal goes bye-bye.... and when you push these people... I get whiny emails about 12 other projects bla bla bla I nearly wrote that it is not my fault you can't manage to get things done - stupid to the NTH degree.... gripe and grump.
Plus today is Thursday my carpooler has meetings until late - so here I sit... bonus there - I get to leave early on Friday...yeah. I'm thinking shoe shopping - need to find my happy birthday coupon. I love Happy Birthday coupons...
Speaking of celebrating another anniversary of my 29th birthday... and just never you mind how many.... my mum-in-law sent my card AND a gift early!!! I know!!! I usually don't get that until at least mid-August! Color me completely amazed! Then I learned the real reason, she's on the beach with her sister, a family friend (or relation - can't remember) her daughter T and her grand daughter - not the knocked up one - the one in school with her head on straight. They left the prego one at home - alone - with my father-in-law. I know it isn't nice to laugh but dang nabbit I'm only human! Plus - its freaking funny to think of Bubba Sr. home alone with HIS mother in law, their yippy dog and no one else!!! BWAAA HAHAHA Ahem.
OK, (snort) ok - really. (giggle) Seriously. We'll leave that there...
I wonder will prego niece get the message regarding all these kids she's having - everyone is sick of it? So much so they left her even though my mum-in-law said she was due "any day". I sincerely doubt my sister in law will rush back to PA if she goes into labor....
Of course now I feel bad for prego niece - sort of. Oh let's just chuck it up to I am an awful person.
Moving on. I'm going back to work maybe if I keep being a productive member of society the bad karma will ease back. Yeah I'm not counting on that either. Have a good Thursday - and remember the weekend is only one day away... and one of us gets older on Saturday. *sigh*
