At least he wasn't alone...

Darling Bubba - left his office at 3:30 pm Wednesday afternoon - along with 3 million other Metro DC residents... he arrived home at 10:50 PM. That is not an stretch for comedy - those are the bare bones facts... and with 7 hour plus commute - he was considered lucky.

Now there were A LOT of phone calls home and while I was up and on line I was checking traffic cameras... then at about 10:00 PM I get back on line and guide him to the one exit off the unplowed major artery in which he was trapped. That drive (exit to home) on a regular day should have taken him 15 minutes with lights. It took him 50 minutes. He finally got home only to hit the drive way a bit wide, and he got stuck. At that point he turned off the car, darn near ran into the house and blessed the gods above for indoor plumbing.

He ate dinner, while dealing with email, and telling his boss he'd been in late. Then at 11:20 last evening WE were outside shoveling the driveway. We got 9/10's done and I bailed - plus I had the dirt shovel not the snow shovel and the snow kept sticking to the shovel!

We lost an evergreen in the back yard and it appears to have taken out my lilac bush as well. The other half of the evergreen tree is leaning toward the neighbors behind us... but one of his bushes is leaning over his fence into our yard as well so maybe they are holding each other up... please god.

We slept in a bit this morning as we knew and the news told us don't plan on an early morning if you can help it - and we could. So up and moving, Bubba finished the driveway, changed into work clothes and then logged on for over an hour while I was upstairs with the document I saved yesterday in anticipation of having to shared the Internet connection. I was in 'lazy' clothes i.e. warm woolies, sweatpants and slippers. Why dress when I wasn't going anywhere. Except for moving downstairs to the office and Internet connection.

Oh sure Bubba tried to give me errands today - to which I reminded him that I was working today and was not making plans to be out and about. Deal with it.

Bubba headed out to work about lunchtime and I am enjoying the peace and quiet of a working day from home. I've got plenty to keep me busy - and no real desire to do it - but I am slogging through the work...

I am beginning to wonder about me in the fact that I would rather stay home, and work then try to fight the crazy people on the roads and go into the office. Darling Bubba darn near ran out of the house today. He was on a conference call - and before it was over he had his computer packed up and his coat on before it was over! And he was anxious that the call had run over and he needed to get going. I mean - really?? Who is in the wrong or is neither? We are who we are I guess... just makes me shake my head...

Plus I have come to enjoy the quiet....
