Ok - up at O-dark 30 and "moving" trip home was wonderfully uneventful - oh there were moments of annoyance when I came downstairs and there was Bubba with his nose in his computer... and yes I loaded the truck so we could get on the road - there were a few choice (non-football) words exchanged and away we went...
Arrived home to Mom's and we have invaded. Christmas presents, suitcases, dog bag, dog beds, dog food... dogs- almost as bad as having a kid. Almost.
Put the gingerbread houses together and let them set up so when little fingers got to them they would stand up without much trouble. And they did... I made them - of course they would... (she says now)
Back in the car - an hour ride to my brother's, call from my sister, we were running behind - we arrive, invasion number 2. Only this time I came packing gingerbread houses, icing, candy and goodies... loaded up the girls with icing bags and candy at the ready and for 45 minutes it was pandemonium... the good kind. Then we had 3 little girls bouncing off the walls on all that sugar - OMG - what fun. I think my brother's dog may have developed a new twitch but then again that dog lives with my brother and his two children - that dog is bullet proof.
then after a short period of time to allow the bulk of the sugar to burn through their system we went to dinner - and between you and me it filled the hole but wasn't the greatest dinner ever. Mexican in Western PA - yeesh. Next time we'll do wings - go with the speciality and Western PA knows wings.
Everyone had a good time, we took a ton of pictures and it all in all was a good day... now I will hang on to those feelings - because tomorrow (insert dramatic music here) we invade the in-laws... but just me and Bubba the puppies get to spend the day with Nana. Tomorrow's post will be sometime Saturday - it will be a busy couple of days...
