Get comfy...

Aunt Ing has got a lot to say...

First and foremost - A WINDY DAY AT THE BEACH IS STILL BETTER THAN ANY DAY AT WORK.... I'm going to have that on my gravestone. It was estrogen weekend and with some snippiness and some unhappy baby moments but all in all 3 days in bliss - relaxation and total enjoyment. We left Friday morning, got into the room and went to the beach it was all good. Oh the sun wasn't exactly bright and shining Friday afternoon but there was enough to play in the sand, put your toes in the ocean... laugh and play with a two year old... it was all good.

Friday dinner - good, close and happy. Baby was starting to hit the wall, 3 hour car ride, busy at the beach, then wham - baby tired wall and we hurried dinner. Still a good dinner.

Saturday we are up WAY too early but we are on the beach before 10 AM. The wind was a-blowing... we're keeping our covers on but we're playing in the sand, sticking our toes in the ocean and not much else... Nana she wrapped up in 12 layers of towels and clothing and wasn't sure this was a good time. But she stayed and enjoyed said baby enjoying it all and completely oblivious to the conditions surrounding her... then we hit nap time... and boy did this kid nap. So Mom and I enjoyed the Arctic temps of the hotel's pool while baking in the September Sun. Out of those gentle 45 mph ocean breezes the sun was quite warm, and while sitting by the pool we began the baking process, then dipped into the sub-zero pool to 'cool' off then talked and talked and talked - to a point of on the way home we sat in a lot of silence. Very unusual for us. Very.

The fun twist on Saturday was as I was in the shower thinking we'd hit dinner early my sister decided that we should go back to the beach after darling niece's 3 hour nap... a 3 hour nap. (insert your own theme music here) Anywho - off we went - I dried off and put the bathing suit BACK on we enjoyed the beach for another 90 minutes or as Nana announced, "I'm freezing things off I'm going back to shower and find my toes." Really what baby - 47 degrees and those balmy 56 mile an hour winds - please I'm amazed we didn't have skinny dippers.

Dinner Saturday night - not as great as Friday. We did the same thing last year. NEXT year we will do our homework. Find dinner places before we go - NEVER as a skinny person a good place to eat -they have no clue. Ask the chubby folks of the world - we know - and we share.

On a side note -I have discovered my darling sister is another "Sally" (as in when Harry Met) I want this - this way - can you change that - can I have this instead... Oh dear sister of mine, life is entirely too short for all that fuss over dinner. Especially when someone else is doing the cooking... on another note-- best line from the waiter Saturday night - poor boy had our table at one end of the room then a handful of others at the other end of the room - dude - buy the head chick in charge some flowers and beg for better table disbursement... yeesh.

Oh yeah the line - my sister decided that the globs of Old Bay Seasoning that were smeared on in handfuls to her crabs was a bit much - she asked for a dump and wash. I joked, "you're in Maryland" - the waiter quips "We use that stuff as cologne" LOL funny dude - way to go.

Fast forward to Sunday - we are not up with the birds, Marines and other creatures of the too freaking early - we enjoy breakfast at the local eatery, dress and head back to enjoy another day at the beach. We were gone all morning, more water, more sand, more bird chasing, more castles build and then immediately destroyed, it was good. Oh and did I mention sun? And more sun? We tried to get little baby to nap in the sand - no chance... so off we go.

Frankly by Sunday afternoon I was burnt, my sister had an early lobster hue going and Mom had a nice brown going - as she was at the beach last week with Dad... (insert snarky retired people comment here)

So... back to the hotel - baby napped for another 2.5 hours, we showered, packed up and headed back to interior Maryland. We found the ice cream place we enjoyed last year - grabbed a quick dinner, and ENJOYED some really good ice cream... it was a great weekend.

Now on a small side note - we need to pick which piece of technology we are going to use, that GPS thing or map quest or the good old fashioned map. Because when you combo the first two you end up making fun circles on the GPS because one person is reading a map, the GPS is chirping to TURN LEFT - TURN LEFT TURN LEFT - and the person reading map quest is shouting - GO STRAIGHT! And because of baby niece in the car - one must sensor those 'football' words one would want to use while in the midst of map-gp-questing... next time I do it my way and the GPS witch can recalculate all she wants.

Now as we pull into my house, darling Bubba announces that tonight - tonight we had to take his car to the mechanic. As it wasn't running well, it would work better than trying to navigate the busy highways during the Monday morning rush hour. While yes I see the logic in the argument but my eyeballs were not thrilled with the idea of more driving. We will leave the car rant for another day or later tonight.

So I was the good doo-bie and made the staff meeting conference call today - even though it was supposed to be my day off and mostly it was... ;-)
But now there is a handful of work to finish so I will be on my computer later tonight. On the upside, less vacation time taken today. AND another major bummer other than darling baby niece heading home - boss is in town this week... so we'll have a discussion tomorrow and he'll be cranky when I work from home Wednesday too... hey hey hey.

The decorator is coming Wednesday AND I was supposed to have the day OFF. Deal with it boss man I'll be working late tonight to ensure things are done so you can deal with me being home Wednesday... so there.

And finally - THE STEELERS LOST TO FREAKING CHICAGO?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? TWO -- NOT ONE BUT TWO MISS FLIPPING FIELD GOALS???
Go soak your head Jeff Reed.
You're in the song for crying out loud - 'get 3 points off of Jeff Reed's toe!" Well twinkle? What happened? Oh I saw the high lights - GET HEALTHY QUICK Troy - that other guy is a wanna be and I'm not just talking about the hair. Don't you have some herbal rub-meditation-levitation-incense-chanting thing you can do for it? Please?

Tuesday is not looking up. Stay tuned because I'm going to need a nap.

And I haven't even covered the fun thing that happened at the bus stop that had nothing to do with Bubba this morning!
