Missed Monday... what do to...

Figure out something clever for Tuesday? Probably not. I can tell you Monday was relatively quiet but of course there are always things that make life fun and worth living...

First the project - the changing of a light from a pull line to a switch on the wall...

I and my dear Mother made the sage and wise decision to stay on another floor while the 'project' was on going, it looked like this from my vantage point - first Bubba comes upstairs... hear clicking and yelling - "Is it off yet?" I relay the message because I know my dear-old-dad is not going to hear Bubba from inside the garage, down the stairs, turn the corner and, into the laundry room... me yelling from the living room he will hear... to be honest me yelling from the garage he would hear... I digress. He was turning the power off to the laundry room and I wanted to make sure my father still needed his clown wig... (think Afro - electricity... think about folks)

Then a bit later after some rumbling, some laughing the pair come back upstairs, out the front door and to the neighbors - thank goodness I have handy neighbors. They get the parts and bits they need and back down stairs they go - we still hear conversation - then drilling - I send a small prayer heaven-ward and think about a sacrifice to the electrician gods then after a bit - my father comes back upstairs goes into the garage to turn the power back on... I made the mistake of asking why Dad was alone...

My father the clown replies - "um yeah there is only going to be three for dinner". My reply - "oh well Ok." Dad looks at me says OK? Hey no more bus stop runs right?

So without any electrical jolts, no frying of any wires or short circuiting the entire house - I now have a switch on the wall... and I'm still reaching for the pull string... it's going to be a long week.

I am happily working from home today as the decorator will be in today - CURTAINS!! I am very excited. So there might be an update of unbridled happiness or really ticked off... we shall see.

Yesterday also saw the trip to the local farm and the purchase of 1/2 a bushel (yes that right 1/2 a bushel!) of red peppers... which we will then roast over the gas grill, peel off the burnt skin, then seed and freeze for enjoyment by Bubba later. I don't eat these things. It's a messy dirty job - we did 6 peppers yesterday and that was enough to say ick... But Bubba loves these things and now that I know the tricks I fear this will become my job - after as Momma says - "we ain't getting any younger" yeesh - they are going to live forever to to make their children as nuts as they are... ;-)

On the upside while I sit here listening to the second of 3 conference calls of my morning Mom is upstairs roasting another batch - which is less for me to contend with later... LOVE YA MOM.

On a side note - Mom read Saturday's post and she is still giving Dad the business about the finding Wal-mart but not my house comment - which means I got the business from Dad... why yes I do live the "what goes around comes around" principle of life why do you ask?
