Truly Random

Ok boys and girls - sit down, buckle up and hush up - I've got a lot to say today and you might as well get comfortable.

First - of course is that football game last night or what I've decided to call the last man standing. Holy crap could the offense suck wind any more??!!?? Um - boys it's called a running game -- will someone please tell Fast Willie that he isn't fast when he runs into the big men on the line? Hey O-line - open a freaking hole he isn't called Willie the Steam Engine. OR here is a wacky idea - put a bigger back in the line up - yeesh. That was frustrating as all get out... Now the passing game - Ben sugar - that blond hair is still peeking out - OMG - 12 pump fakes does a sacked idiot make--THROW THE DARN BALL--- (ahem... better thank you)

And Heinz - that is your one allotted fumble - I hope you enjoyed it. You can't do this to people who watch football in Western PA (and suburban DC) the diets and lifestyles do not support this kind of stress... are you trying to kill us off? Not to mention as I laid in bed at 1AM all jazzed up wondering when I might fall asleep. (about 20 minutes before the alarm went off FYI).

Next I got a nice phone call from a old friend - meaning we're old and we knew each other when the hair was feathered, Saturday Night live was funny and Micheal Jackson was still just a pop star. Yeah someone from high school - it was nice to hear from him, his family sounds busy and wonderful and it was nice to share recent things with folks who knew you when you were really young and stupid. I have to get back on Facebook and say hey! that was very very nice way to start my work day...

Speaking of the work day - it started very very late today. Why? Because it's raining and as anyone knows who lives here in DC knows rain+idiots=traffic LOTS and LOTS of traffic another 2 hour ride into work... TWO HOURS. I'm still amazed I've managed not to just snap during one of these rides. I'm trying really hard not to think about the ride home...

It's going to be a busy weekend, the ladies are coming Saturday morning for a social thing, Sunday Bubba is heading West and we'll celebrate with a quiet dinner with just me... I'm really going to have to think of something good... ;-)

And now finally today is September 11th, I remember vividly where I was, and what happened that day. I remember the emails and phone calls from worried parents, because at that time my job took me in and out of the Pentagon regularly. I wasn't there that day. I was there very shortly afterward, and for the next 9 months. I was fortunate to be part of a team in response to that day that helped plug a hole those events exposed. I wear my Pentagon Memorial pin with pride to this day, and remember the burnt smell the building held for a few days. I also remember the determination, drive and focus of this team to do our one part in bringing this country back.

Remember the young men and women who serve our country today and every day, freedom isn't free.
