Yes boys and girls here we go again... Washington DC is in full panic mode winter storm warnings! 16-20 inches of snow is coming and the cherry on this sundae of doom? More snow Monday into Tuesday or Tuesday into something... let me put it this way... it is going to snow A LOT. Snow removal budgets are history, school snow days are used up and the grocery store and hardware store owners are going to retire in Fiji after this winter - screw it after this weekend.
I on the other hand have left a check for the enterprising young man next door and I'm heading north - out of the snow. Most people have to head south - not this year. Unless you're Bubba then you head West - I swear he's got some kind of weather computer than pin-points the weekend when we'll have major snow and plans to be gone. Probably in the same location of the dirty glass supply I can't find... Ah well stay tuned to see how many days I have to squat at Mom's before I can get back into Washington DC - do you think she'd mind until March? LOL Dad would.
In another in the on going saga of schedules at work... remember a couple of days ago when I ranted and raved about pushing due dates around like the skinny nerd in gym class? Well the jocks are at it again. The Due date that was supposed to be this Friday - yes tomorrow - was changed TUESDAY to a week from tomorrow. By the time I got into work today... (I was late) it has been changed to "as soon as you can" we are currently working to delivery Monday or Tuesday - which considering the weather forecast they will be lucky to get it done by Wednesday - or we may never get it done because the end of the world is apparently coming to DC this weekend. So we'll see what next week brings. To you children of the 80's just walk around today and tomorrow singing "It's the end of the world as we know - and I feel finnnnnee" People will leave you alone - trust me ;-)
Also if you're into crowds - the grocery store is apparently your place to be - I met up with a friend of mine to have lunch - we glanced toward the local Safeway... and shuttered. I can't begin to imagine what those places will look like come 5-6 PM tonight... those cashiers should get hazard-duty pay for those kind of days.
On a completely different note Bubba called last night - all bummed out life at work apparently is kicking him in the fanny and he's not liking life a whole heck of a lot. Yeah I feel real bad... well I do feel bad, but not that much - because well he's off in a hotel barely a worry outside of work. I mean when I travel - there is so much stress before I go to make sure there is clean clothes and enough food to sustain his highness when I go away it is freaking heaven while I'm gone No responsibilities but to ME! It's nice. Oh sure Bubba tries to tell me how tough it is on the road - I know better. He doesn't like it because there is no HD TV or Hockey package but these are not priorities in my life... just his. Trust me outside of the plane ride (for me) the rest is a cake walk. And how tough can his ride be? He's got enough perks and miles and what not he's usually flying first class... butthead.
So to sum up this day? This is the rush rush to get things done before the snow hits - me I'm going to a meeting, coming home, packing up and headed north to escapes Mother's Nature's latest tantrum. Or is that the Cold Miser? anyone remember those Christmas clay-mation they did a song and dance number-- "I'm Mr. Heat Miser I'm Mr. Sun... I'm Mr. Freeze Miser! That's it! -- "I'm Mr. Freeze Miser - I'm Mr. 10 below... whatever I touch turns to snow in my clutch I'm too much..... " ahem - well that was a peak into my child hood wasn't it? ;-)
Signing off to enjoy the latest adventure of "Wheel - Of - Due Dates...." tell us Vanna - what's next?.... *sigh* talk to you later.
