Saturday and that's about it - maybe with some Sunday tossed in

This Saturday has thankfully thus far been uneventful - to a point. The pups let me sleep in until a late late 8:30 - and for those two that's late. Bubba was up post doggie breakfast, he was showered and moving, I was sort of moving the showered. He also managed to balance our checkbook for last month "hey hon - $18 bucks off not bad for you" -- pin head. I digress, he completed our taxes then had a fit when I stood there for the better part of 10 minutes while he ciphered and figured out where I had to sign. No of course I didn't stand there quietly - do you know me? Do you read this regularly? People please.

Actually it was really just one comment - "If I did this to you - you'd pitch a fit." Then he did. lol.

So, taxes done and signed, then he hands things to me and says - let's got to the post office.

Ran errands - then he remembered he had a massage scheduled... 90 minutes of rubbing all the right ways... pin head. So, drop him off, I go finish said running, back to the house change clothes, (Girl's group meeting) pick him up, return home gather my things and head out...

Only to have to turn around post kid pick up because I forgot the paper work that was due that night... *sigh* but we made it in plenty of time, as folks were VERY late - we were the golden girls. So, long meeting, did my thing and it's all good... mostly. You know me... ;-) I was asked to assist with refreshments, no problem, happy to help hoping against hope someone would maybe someday do the same for me... (insert hysterical laughter here) And I'm wondering. So, I'm helping I'm doing and I notice that the adults of the group who are supposed to be doing this... aren't. Well - OK then... I set down what I had to set down, gathered my things, saw my kids off (I didn't have to take anyone home) and left. I am more than happy to lend a helping hand - doing it for you - oh so not what I signed up for...

Now I am sure that a certain someone will note my departure, and I will tell any one of certain someones - exactly where, when and why of the departure. And that is that.

Now I will say I was very happy to get in and out of DC without getting lost. And getting home was alone and in the dark so bully for me!!!

So home late, bed late, up WAY TO FREAKING EARLY... really Bubba? 7AM? You haven't seen 7 AM on a Sunday since I don't know when... the ONE Sunday I was really hoping to sleep in and HE is up with the chickens. Now when I grumped at him, post shower (that took forever!!) he says to me "so tell the dogs to go lay down.." SERIOUSLY? How long have you lived in this house - you're up - you're showering - I'm up... no "go lay down" accepted. The dogs know the routine - why don't' you? Butt head - actually theme for this post seems to be pin head.

Well, pin head decided to go into work, I laid about for another 30 minutes debating murder methods then got moving myself. And out popped wonder woman - or the gal who will be traveling for 3 days and is afraid to leave Bubba alone with her house that long... I cleaned kitchen, picked up, put away, did laundry, had a cup of coffee or two, a bagel, loved the pups.... then went out shoe shopping.

I don't want to get off on a rant here... (thank you Dennis Miller) BUT... I was replacing a pair of black dress shoes whose soles have been warn down to the shoe... I didn't go back to payless because every time I've been back I've found nothing. So off I go to the "designer" knockoff place - not cheap like payless but cheaper than Macy's. I find a pair of shoes that will do the job nicely, AND then I go check out the "discount" rack... found a new pair of blue shoes to replace the ones with the crack across the bottom, AND for myself I found a cute pair of boots... of course I spent more than Sr. Pin head thought I should have - his budget was probably about $25... please. When we met for lunch that information from me was greeted with specific unhappiness (versus general unhappiness). My rant? I haven't bought a new pair of shoes since July 2008, I have a job, get off my fanny. Cripes. He acts like I do this weekly! Once every 18 months - get a life... It's not like I go for a massage every month... sometimes 2 times a month... Pin head. I swear the man gets any tighter with that dollar his Old George is going to leave a mark, and Bubba won't like it.

Home now, finishing up the laundry, then I'm packing up for the Alabama visit, making a dinner for Bubba for next week, and with any luck I will be in bed by 8:30 - as last night was cut short and 4:30 AM comes early - and the pick time is set for 6:01AM. Heaven help me.

Stay tuned for tales from the road... or not. ;-)
