Yes boys and girls getting up early finally paid off... I got up early - after another 2 hits of the snooze bar.. but I got up, got moving, finished packing and got the heck out of DC... Where as I type this they are being snowed in until - I think - probably April. I really don't think Mom will mind that much, except for the laundry which will have to be more frequent as I only packed for 4 days... but hey - she's got HAL the oober washing machine. (Now to get that joke see 2001 A Space Odyssey)
Of course as I speak as well it's snowing like mad here in Western PA... apparently THIS is the biggest snow they've had all winter. Lucky me. On the up side PA is getting only getting up to 10 inches while the latest "guess" for DC - is 30 inches. 30 - that is more than 2 feet boys and girls - I may never see my house again.
The ride up was quiet, outside of Shelby and her barking, and talking and moving and such... but weather wise there was some flurry stuff at the top of the mountain where I went through the tunnel.. but dry roads and a quick ride - can't beat that with a stick. But now I am home with the parentental units, aka she doesn't listen and he can't hear... I may soon be contacting my sister for "home" recommendations... we'll see. ;-)
We went out to dinner - early and in the 45 minutes in which it took us to enjoy this meal - it really started coming down and since we've been home - someone turned the machine on high... sing with me now... "I'm Mr. Snow Miser I'm Mr. 10 below... whatever I touch - turns to snow in my clutch... I'm too much..." Now if I could just start singing about HEAT miser - we would be a much happier camper... Holy crap and enough already.
I must say the emails from co workers have been entertaining... best exchange involved hunting down that "rat" aka Punxustawney PA ground hog... the last best communication was from the woman desperately trying to get out of DC and to Mexico...
I quote:
Re: the Rat
Exterminate with extreme prejudice.
Frankly I think that says it all...
On the up side - Dad has a snow blower and isn't afraid to use it.... the kid next door to me? Has already been paid... dig James dig. Stay warm, stay safe and go find a good recipe for snow ice cream.
