Travel weary... day one

Or why am I here? Here is the lovely and warmer (than DC) Huntsville AL... Day start time? 4:30 AM... up, showered, dressed, puppies, pack last things, double check as much as possible and wait for the shuttle... then he arrives, picks up more people, then the most convoluted way to an airport I've ever been on.... however Monday morning rush hour - something tells me he's done this before. So... we go to get on the airplane... this is an adventure unto itself... you have to go down a flight of stairs, get checked in then get on -- A shuttle bus!! They bus us out to the plane... sit there while we watch other people get off the plane... then they let us off the bus and onto the plane... fun.

On a fun note our flight had not one but 2 - two star generals on board... ooo la la. ;-) I sat next to a major, nice guy.

So arrive without incident, the airport is not large, took care of business, got the rental car and off we went to the office, grabbed a very very so-so lunch. Then we sat down for a meeting... a never ending meeting... everyone in that room outside of the folks (2) who live here was up before dawn was a thought, traveled then sat here so uninterested in anything being put up on a screen. And because one lone customer-type pinhead didn't make the early flight we had to shift the agenda so tomorrow promises to be a very very long day...

Dinner was good if not very healthy, fried catfish, hush puppies, cole slaw, and broccoli. I refrained from the cheese grits - it wasn't easy.

Now I'm in a nice cooling hotel room, wondering if it would be wrong to go to be at 9:00 East Coast time - 8 Pm Central time... who is going to know... (yeah yeah Internet bla bla... whatever)

My brother's wife called today and said I gave her a great laugh on her birthday, and she went on to say how my brother never gets her a birthday gift, he bought the card at CVS while she was with him... and apparently my card had something to do with that... I didn't have the heart to tell her I had no clue what the card said. I bought the darn thing like a month ago. I'm lucky at this point I remember my own name much less the birthday card I gave to my sister in law 2 weeks ago. I got a pass because she said she had naked babies running about... thank goodness.

One thing I can say it is much nicer to travel with people than to travel alone.

Alright too tired to be very creative today - stay tuned for bored out of my freaking mind - day two. At least I don't have to fly anywhere.,,

  1. BTW, I got a laugh out of a card you sent me the other day. I got it last week. And I can't remember what it was now, but it DID make me laugh! Feel better? LOL (I'll find it again tonight and let you know...)
