It is bright and felt warm and it had this strange effect on all this white crap ... it made it liquid. Now after an extensive search from my trusty computer I discovered this thing in the sky was the SUN!! I had forgotten what it looked like.. it was-- it was (sorry I have to wipe away a tear) so very nice... then the wind would blow the shoveled snow back onto my clean patch of driveway... and it wasn't so great...
I did about 1/3 of the driveway then called the kid next door and told him to name his price. Of course when he and his Dad showed up to dig out my driveway I went out and helped -I did the sidewalks. My wrist wasn't happy my back isn't happy and the rest of me is pretty ticked off too... not to mention sitting at my office chair for 9 hours a day without the long walk to the rest room or the longer walk for lunch or just getting up to discuss an issue with a co-worker yeah a lot of sitting. I am going to try and make my way into the office tomorrow - THAT should be an adventure.
Now it has been reported that the area in which I live has now broken a snow fall record that has stood since 1899... 111 years boys and girls.. do you have any idea how much freaking snow has fallen in just the last 4 days??!!??? There are pictures on my camera showing what my house looked like Monday and there are pictures of what the house looks like today.... one guess --- THERE IS A LOT OF WHITE STUFF FREAKING EVERY WHERE!!! and trust me boys and girls it is piled high and deep - much like my manager's statements on supporting his team.. (oh did I just say that out loud?? Not having a good work day - even from home)
Today was a busy day work wise we've got deliveries going out the door and it's due tomorrow and with the entire DC team working from home as NO ONE can get out of their neighborhoods we are all dealing with slow networks, battering emails, and chewing phone cords... oh wait that is just me so I didn't say something stupid to management or any other code jockey today... Frankly I think team DC is doing a yeoman's effort getting this stuff tended... so shut it Mr. Alabama and Mr. Florida -111 years!! The snow piles are taller than ME! ... har har har... yes I am short but gang think about this ... snow pile are over 5 feet tall and frankly I'd say closer to 6 as you can't see the men of the neighborhood behind the snow piles but you know they are there because you see a pile of snow coming up and over...
Ok so today in a nutshell... up, dressed, began shoveling, called neighbor kid and offered my bank account, answered email, back outside, finished sidewalks, paid kid, let the dogs out front for 15 minutes of freedom, smiled at clean driveway, telecon one, telecon two, two reports, 3 reviews, 600 emails from one annoying person who will soon have her messages dumped into the junk file soon, update my travel profile as I now get to GO to Huntsville AL... at the end of the month...
Now let me pause her and say this isn't such a bad thing as my usual itinerary is going to Chicago in February, Corpus Christi Texas in the dead of summer... you know the times you really want to go to these places. So going some place in the heart of Dixie without it being the heart of summer... Aunt Ing is not complaining... plus there are 7 of us traveling from DC... so lots of company - sort of... there are 3 airports and 2 are going out of airport 1, 2 more out of airport 2 and 3 out of airport three... I got a direct flight so I am SO not complaining that will come when I discover the hour in which I must arise to get the airport that morning.... we'll save that for later.
Now where was I? Oh yes, trip planning, more reports.... bla bla let me sum up... it's been one busy day... if it wasn't so freaking cold outside and I wasn't so lazy I would go get something out for dinner but so not in the mood to go back outside.
Bubba called today... unlike yesterday he didn't tell me to go outside and "get ahead" of shoveling the driveway... (in driving winds and blowing snow he suggests this... ) he only asked if I dug out the driveway... I said I did. He also said "right now" his trip home is on schedule... does anyone else think with all the plane round robins going on he MIGHT have a bit of an issue? Laughing is not nice boys and girls and I really shouldn't be doing it... but then I look outside and snicker.
I have pictures to upload and other things to deal with, but I'm so tired of sitting in this chair - it will probably be late Friday or this weekend before I get things tended to....
Would it be wrong to send Bubba a link to a jewelry store with things I want noted... after all he HAS managed to be on the West Coast for EVERY major snow we've had this year... I've been home, alone - with the snow piling up and then having to dig it out... (well some of it anyway...) Oh heck yeah Aunt Ing deserves bling... open up that wallet Bubba - we're going shopping!
More tomorrow from the outside world... is it still there?
