Did you know that 2:30 AM is really the middle of the night?

It is - really. It is dark, it is quiet, and even my pups didn't want to get up... they did, went outside, sniffed around probably wondering, "why in the heck am I out here in the middle of the night?" came back in one didn't mind that breakfast wasn't being served, the other wondered but accepted and went back to bed. (I was trying to keep them on schedule)

I was up showered, dressed and packed and ready to go at 2:55 AM - 5 minutes to spare for scheduled arrival time... then I had another 15 minutes to kill (they give themselves a 15 minute window)-- the one time I counted on that window the guy was knocking at the door at the early time... oh yeah groovy - so now I'm always ready and they've never been early again. Oh yeah that is my life.

Soooo.... on to the van, picked up 3 more people drove around 2 different apartment complexes, then he hit the peddle to the medal to the airport... you so desperately want to say - Dude I'm traveling for work if you tip this bucket of bolts over I will hurt you... but then I wouldn't have to get on another airplane... hummm perhaps I should have rocked the bus. ;-)

Got on the plane - there were 6 - count um 6 people on this 6:05 Am flight ... the stewardess mentioned "glad we could provide a charter flight for you" considering the price my company paid for this ticket (bought yesterday) it pretty much was! So lots of room, tried desperately to sleep - and was indeed drifting off a bit until said 'stew' asked if I wanted something to drink and scared the living daylights out of me. Thanks sugar heart pounding, nerves jangling, and that was all she wrote regarding any sleep. Oh I tried to nod off I closed my eyes, thought seriously about singing come kind of kum-ba-yah ditty to shut off my brain... but I sat there and the brain just went round and round - mostly about leaving sleeping dogs out when I left this early morning - they didn't move when I called them - so I said fine.

I did call back home to the dog walker to make sure she'd been over early - just in case - and because I'm a ninny. And I figured if they were going to tear apart something that would be the time to do it.

I made it into work before everyone else because 1) LIGHT plane, landed early 2) NO ONE was about so my bag was waiting for me at baggage claim, and of course no lines anywhere... only problem was I couldn't find a freaking Starbucks to save my life... all these geeks and no coffee house? Really people what is wrong with this picture?

I did work hard today, and finally threw in the towel at 4:00 Central time - 5:00 Pm EST. Of course now I'm at my hotel, in my comfy clothes, and knowing I can't got to bed at 6:00 PM, so I will probably do some more work then crash at 7:00 Pm. ;-)

I haven't heard from Bubba for several days - I guess he figures since I'm on the road too he doesn't have to check in. We'll bump into each other Friday night and wonder who this person is next to us Saturday morning. The dogs will be all confused as to who we are...

Life here in the deep south will be busy - unfortunately not a great deal of interesting... that will return when Bubba returns home. Stay tuned...
