No, Bubba is still a guy but to anyone who remembers the movie "When Harry Met Sally" will remember how long it took the Sally character to order anything - welcome to my world. It came to me this morning when Bubba I were at a local deli; place is busy waitress is running... I order, 2 eggs, sausage patty, plain bagel... all the information she needed no fuss no muss... now we get to Sally aka Bubba... which is better this or this? Both hummm, Is the soup good? Don't like mushroom... ah OK I'll have this sandwich.. waitress then asks which kind of bread.. white, wheat or rye - Bubba says Sourdough. She smiles at him - I know that smile she's mentally slapping the smirk off of him - "no sweetie white, wheat or rye" (insert jeopardy music here) finally "white"
Then she mistakenly asks for a drink order... 30 seconds later he comes up with "water". Yes boys and girls and creatures of all manner I did marry the whitest man in America. Thank you contest over (you should see him dance-- and we're done).
They were busy - make up your freaking mind and move on... it's fine to ask questions when you go to the nicer restaurants but the local Jewish deli with the Koren manager and a mostly Hispanic staff... read the menu and order something... yeesh. I have sat across from the table while some poor waitress has had to rattle off soft drink options, salad dressing options and the daily specials twice... I always over tip those poor people they should have some kind of medal for folks who must wait on my husband. Life some days is hard enough why would you complicate something as simple as ordering lunch? Its a wonder I don't drink more than I do...
On another note, we have the bedrooms pretty much put back together after the painting... the living room is 1/2 done as it won't be complete until the decorator comes in to finish the job. The kitchen is my last challenge for today and I'll get to it... sooner or later. ;-)
Today's controversy is the living room paint job... the darker color looks great I am very happy - Bubba as you can imagine has an issue... the man was born with an issue... I digress... The painters painted my trim bright white - it looked awful. I had told the man who did the estimate the trim should match the walls... they made it match the walls. One problem I will fix Monday they also painted the windows... no they should have remained white... didn't catch that fast enough. Will call Monday - I will deal with it...
Any whoooo we are well into today and he's still bitching about the color so finally I said "I DIDN'T LIKE IT - I LIKE THIS DEAL WITH IT" in only the most calm and soothing tones one can use while yelling like a fish monger's wife. He had his opportunity to provide input during the 'design' phase of our project now that we are into 'implement' sit down shut up and deal with it... white trim looked awful they fixed it - I am happy that is what counts. And I wonder why it took over a decade to change something in this house... the stress just isn't worth it.
Well he called and is off to the Home Depot in search of wall paper glue to fix a few peeling edges... he should be home some time Sunday afternoon. Maybe later on a slow day I will detail Bubba shopping-- you'll enjoy that one.
