The winds are still blowing...

But Hurricane Bubba has definitely blown off shore; oh there is still the potential for damaging winds and rain but the big threats are slowing easing off... As I stated yesterday the questions began and were answered peppered with muttered comments of 'should have done it myself' and 'if you were being careful it wouldn't have broken' which were of course responded with equally muttered pithy comments from his spouse.

Now this all occurred after the "are you sure murdering your husband is illegal?" moment of the day....

With the loud and cranky start to our day I failed to note that I had a meeting after work this particular Monday - soon it will be every Monday... I digress... any how... with said argument; the dump and go; and a day full of meetings - I, the good wife, - forgot to mention to 'the husband' of said meeting and to adjust his trip home via the TRAIN (note not the bus) accordingly. SOOOO when he called just as said meeting was starting I said why don't you go back to work for 30 minutes, then get on the train, I will meet you in one hour. (When the meeting would be over)... there was grumping but I thought agreement..

As I rushed to said Metro station I called, "where are you?" to which he replied "work" not a good idea to step on breaks while flying down interstate highway pushing 70 mph. "Um what?"

"You said go back to work so I' m working now I'm in the middle of something I'll call you when I get on the train."

To say there was steam coming out of my ears would be a mild description of the actions that took place immediately following that statement. To sum up - I used all legal methods, proceeded to turn around and head home. Thank you to the pressure release valve that is in Western PA - Thanks Mom! Thanks Dad! Should I be concerned the laughter that goes along with my tales? Nah ... someone should be entertained by Bubba's taxi service. Now he did call, a bit later, and I proceeded with the doggies at a legal sedate pace to said Metro station. I did have to get gas, roll the lint brush over the dog beds, just to see if I could gather enough stray hair to make another dog (results currently inconclusive), scrub the small spot of scrung that was beginning to make faces at me in the fridge, and several other equally, vitally important things I had to finish before proceeding at the legal limit mph down said highway... why yes he was waiting for my arrival why do you ask?

I think we have come to an understanding, Bubba has agreed on work late nights he will drive into work and I agreed not to give him a body scrub with the cheese grater. See boys and girls the secret to a happy and long marriage is give and take and everybody wins.

On another related note I began to worry today about my driving skills, here is what happened: I dropped Bubba off at the bus stop, went to the stop light, it was red for my direction, I pulled forward so I could see on coming traffic, its rush hour there was on coming traffic, so I waited... now while I was waiting a woman on a bicycle came riding up on the sidewalk. Now there is still on coming traffic she stops by my truck starts yelling at me - are you going to go? Get out of the cross walk... um... I look at her like she nuts, finally I pull out. (traffic was clear I could proceed safely) She's still yelling at me! Needless to say she received only the utmost polite replies to her comments - at full volume. So as I motored down the road, sat in traffic, made 3 phone calls and generally kept the plates of my life spinning I began to think... and when I think well first, its a bit painful and second I wanted an answer. So I Googled the Maryland MVA drivers handbook... EAT POO BIKE CHICK -- bicycles are not to be ridden on the sidewalks and are to be WALKED across intersections with traffic signals. KISS MY GRITS. If she had walked her bike across the intersection per the law - she could have easily went around the back end of my vehicle and been on her way... AND if she was riding on the road as she should have been she had the green light and I would have waited for her and she could have proceeded in front of my truck without incident.

I feel powerful and vindicated. I may go buy a cape today.
