A Sunday update...

Because I had to... So post lunch Bubba is off to run errands; which encompass a hair cut, a car wash, buying light bulbs, buying a special light bulb for over the stove, and a package of hot dogs for tonight's gourmet dinner. Don't expect spicy lettuce wraps with Chinese 5-spice chicken every freaking night of the week - there is a limit - and it's 95 degrees today.. too hot to think about cooking.

So knowing Bubba like I know Bubba he will be gone for hours - yes hours. Please do not ask what in that list will take him 2 plus hours because I have no idea. Me, I would be done and home in 45 minutes with lights - now with hair it would be two hours as me and Miss Carol have a very close relationship... I digress.

Into hour one I receive a phone call that he has managed to secure a massage appointment, for the third weekend in a row. Fine, go get rubbed and come home happy I am enjoying the peace and quiet. An estimated time of arrival home is given and we go back to enjoying said peace... fast forward another hour or so and here comes phone call number two. A hose has broken on his car and it's overheating, he can only drive a few blocks and then must pull over... he'll be home some time Tuesday. I offer to come get him, make the suggestion of a tow truck, instead he drops the car off at a local mechanic close to where he is and says pick me up at the metro - oh yeah and get the hot dogs because I haven't done that yet... don't ask.

Now did I mention that just today I paid a credit card bill containing a charge for $3700 for a previous car repair? AND he doesn't drive to work anymore? (see previous posts for bus stop fun) and now we are back in the shop - and wasn't it just last Sunday he was complaining about the price of my tires.... Can you feel the steam rising? And it's too hot for steam too so I'll just grump. Now he swears this repair will be reasonable, as it's a connector and not the hose itself, and, well, the coolant has to be replaced; which has to be flown in from Germany, on a private jet with precise temperature controls and then crated in a gold lined box to the Audi dealership then marked up again for the ride from there to the mechanic it will be at least $50 per quart and will take I'm sure somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 gallons. And he will still complain about the price I paid for four tires...

So much for Sunday serenity... it was fun while it lasted. Now I'm going to fold laundry and wonder what to wear to work tomorrow. Its supposed to be 100 degrees with humidity somewhere in boil-lobster-range (meaning you could take your lobster outside hold it for about 2 minutes and enjoy with drawn butter). Should be fun, I'll either need socks on my feet at work or wonder if I can strip down to undies to cool off if anyone would notice. Yeah they might...

Heaven help us as to what Monday could bring.
