Or in my case - Hot Dogs in the suburbs... another hazy hot and humid weekend. Ain't life grand?
So, Mom is in town, we've had a great morning - fun with family gossip would be the theme but hey if you can't be catty with Mom who can you be? AND you know it stays between us girls...
Speaking of girls... we're off to do chick things, book store, pedicures, and a total chick flick.
Oh yeah then Bubba will be home. ;-) Love ya madly sweetie!
Anywho... it's nice just to kick back enjoy talk about everything and nothing, and still be in your pj's at 10:00 AM. Lazy is as lazy does.. and isn't it nice? Although Mom did comment on my reading material.. there has been an influx of bodice-rippers lately... hey it's my brain's version of junk food... heaven knows by backside certainly enjoys it. I sprinkle the history, mystery and other smart books in there but some days a gal just needs a fictional man to take her away. Because in my world if a gal needs romance she picks up a book, and buys her own flowers...
Speaking of flowers I do have to relate this one story...I did buy myself a 6.00 bouquet at the local grocery story - hey they were 6 bucks, sunny and pretty. (and darn it people like me!) ;-)
I digress - and they were lovely, I did manage to change the water and they stayed nice for a week, then this week caught up with me... I didn't change the water, they were on my dining room table, wilted, dried and well dead. (see previous post on me with living things) SOOO... Mom and I are sitting at the table, coffee, chat, and she keeps eyes my bouquet of the living dead... it was distracting... so I got up and gave them a proper burial - right into the trash can. Oh and before said repeated eye contact she did say something to the effort of "Oh honey those poor flowers - you need to deal with those"
No really Ma? I thought I'd leave them there as some sort of post-modern impressionist art of life is dried and wilt-y. And then I would say it with a French accent because well - they're French.
Off to enjoy my day - enjoy yours - or at least eat ice cream to make it better.
